Most of the conversation on the last page was completely perplexing to me.

RL Pet Peeve - The "oh, you poor soul" reactions I get when I explain that my family and I do not get together for Christmas. We do not like each other! We instead choose to get together with people we do like, and thus a Merry Christmas is had by all. Just because it's not what you do, doesn't make it a reason for pity.

Worst of both. I'll be working in the group home on Christmas Eve and Christmas. On Christmas Eve, I work with a woman who I'm pretty sure would like to see me get fired because I reported her for medication error. Pretty stupid lady too. We had a staff meeting today that our supervisor's supervisor sat in on and she openly admitted that she does not like to be held accountable for work that does not get completed during her shift.

Two things today...

1: I lost my job at Big Lots because it was just a temporary job, so now I gotta go looking again... This really sucks...

2: I started using IMVU, and found a group that I really like with it. I started using it to help me escape from the drama of everyday life and avoid all the fighting/arguing that there is every day. Well, recently, there has been a lot of arguing in the wolf pack that I am in on it, and its starting to get me angry at the people, and now we might be going to war with another pack on the messenger. I joined it to AVOID all that drama, not to start the drama! When I first joined the pack it was perfect, and now its just a mess.

It seems no matter what.. I just can't avoid drama, and arguing no matter where I go, or what program I log onto...

The second one I'd drop like a rock if people started taking that program much more seriously than they should be. A bunch of adolescent gang-wannabes is all I see. My advice: don't be one of them. Keep yourself above the "internet war" mentality, because when it comes down to it, it's really just a crock of crap.

The first one, however, is something to be genuinely worried about. Oh, the anti-joys of job-hunting . . .

My sister and parents are somewhat miffed I'm not going to my sister's wedding this weekend.

I am in the running for a few jobs. Jobs are hard to come by right now. I might get one of them, I might not. I'm not risking anything by being in another state when the calls come and the weekend holiday means fuck-all to the places I applied.

She will forget I wasn't even there by the time the ceremony is over, the festivities begin and the honeymoon is underway. I am happy for them both and have never tried to suggest otherwise. All going to the wedding is going to do for me is official confirmation of the relationship she pretty much already had this last year.

Otherwise its just an additional weekend where I'm reminded I'm single and treated like that's strange. Christmas always does that just fine. I had an additional dose of that Sunday seeing my friends from high school. Granted I subjected myself to that because I wanted to see them, but the reminder is still thrust upon you in some way.

My sister doesn't even keep me in the loop of her life unless she needs something. I am happy to do favors for her and I really don't take it personally that I'm not in her top five because the parents aren't, either. Its just something I've come to accept about her since her teen years and I only use that knowledge when I need a favor, which I rarely ask of her.

I'm gonna try to make it up to her by leaving a surprise at their house before they return (though who knows where they'll put it).

Ya, my son gets a bit melancholy when he talks/thinks of his friends and their lives. But like I told him, out of the 5 really close buddies he has/had none of them are doing very well. Three of them got women pregnant and only one got married. The married one is miserable. Then the other two unmarried ones are shitty fathers that hardly spend any quality time with their kids and they just haven't grown up. The 2 friends that are left, one is an addict and the other is dead (he killed himself). These 5 boys came from suburban homes and spent a great deal of their youth under my roof so I know them pretty well and they were decent kids. So when you look at the big picture, my son should be content with where he is because at least he's not in any of those situations. Sometimes things look good on the surface but its whats underneath that counts.

I love when one supervisor (our direct supervisor) is out on vacation, so when we ask another supervisor what to do, she tells us something wrong, then we get our asses chewed out! Because it was totally our fault for doing the right thing and asking first because we didn't know, and totally not the other supervisor's fault for giving us wrong information! Because we're supposed to just let the work come to a dead complete halt when our main supervisor is gone, right? Right?!?!

Fuck work.
