Lost about 40 pounds in the past year, hopefully losing more here but I don't have easy access to a scale.

I believe a congratulations is in order and best wishes for continued success. I just wished my wife would take some responsibility over her own body in the same way. I once replied to her about potential health issues down the road to which she replied, "So? I don't care if I died young." It doesn't even bother her to leave me a widow with 2 girls to raise by myself.

Thats sad Aeni. My hubby has a huge gut, he looks at least 7 months pregnant. I've told him about how men with guts have a higher tendency for heart issues but he doesn't listen. To top it off, he is handicapped. He has an above the knee amputation of his left leg. When he puts on weight like this his stump gets fat too and needs new legs sockets made because he'll get ulcers from rubbing if he doesn't. It's a huge hassle..get fatter, get ulcers, can't wear leg because of ulcers, petition VA for new socket, VA takes sweet ass time, VA finally approves new socket, need to get leg cast for socket, VA takes sweet ass time making new socket, can't wear leg at home even after ulcers are healed because it will make new ones, leg is finally done but then there are usually adjustments until it fits right so he can't wear it until then, and then FINALLY its over and it fits.....for how long, who knows.

I know that my husband is depressed and I've tried, lord how I've tried, to get him into therapy and on medication. I have succeeded three times and the longest he's stayed is 6 months. As for the meds, HA thats a joke. He lies and says he's taking them but I've even counted his pills and I know he's not. Then he says its not doing anything and stops. /sigh Maybe you could get the wife into therapy? Joint therapy to start and express your concerns for her weight/health there and hopefully she'll stay in therapy and work on her issues with it? I wish you luck man.

What I imagine Raydeus's fantasy is is that said fake entities would have absolutely nothing to hide.

Even that, though, is rather idealized, when you can consider everything that can possibly go wrong during a manufacture.

My family struggles with weight issues. I got heavy a few years ago (Thanks, Depression + MMOs!), but "snapped out of it" at some point and decided to drop it all. I'm still about 30lbs heavier than I'd like to be before I start building muscle, which I realize will raise my body weight (in a healthy way). My brother is about 250, and when he visited he was all "It's fine, it's no big deal." and I was all "(Scientific facts)" and so now he's going to work on it.

My sisters are a lost cause though. I think they are determined to destroy themselves not just physically, but in every other way as well. Ugh.

Yes apathy over weight is a god damn disease in this country. I admit I went through it too. I was so heavy after I had my son and I only got heavier. We had a mirror in our bathroom that was 8 feet wide so there was no escaping it when you exited the shower. I would get out of the shower, catch a glimpse of my fat arse in the mirror, and then tell myself that I looked perfectly fine. It's like once you get past a certain point, you get delusional.

Haha, mine is "I still look pretty good from this angle!" Though I know I have mostly stomach fat and I've been working on that. There are times I'm like, "God, EW!" when I look in the mirror and other times I'm like, "Hey, that's kind of a nice curve." I guess I have my moments.

Well I was pretty damn happy when I put on my Spock shirt for the recent movie. I bought that shirt over 30 years ago, probably around 33. It fit! And it fit well! Thats not too shabby at my age to fit into something that you wore as a teen!

She'd amputate my arm off in my sleep if I did that. She's scary. I also don't address her weight directly because that would put me 6 feet under. I just talk about her "health" and try to maneuver the dangerous seas with this little row boat of mine using metaphors, memes and various code words. I sometimes feel like the old man in Old Man and the Sea except the seas are 1,200 feet high and permanently hangs over you waiting for you to make the wrong move.

God damn prepaid phones... no, scratch that. Damn Virgin Mobile and your phones!!

It has the habit of dialing numbers with the slightest pressure against the buttons, so I make sure to leave it's key-guard feature on. For some reason, it was off - and I had it in my pocket the whole day! Add that with a mix of me constantly shifting in my seat, and you get a bunch of calls to $&$&% and ####6. Ah, can't forget my cousin #$&(#^$(*

Phone thinks it's funny to even consider those real numbers and adds them to my minutes. It was 29/300min. three days ago... it is now 241/300min.
