Right now the debt I have is all tied up in student loans. I don't even have a credit card anymore. Just my debit card. It's going to take me until I'm 85 to pay off my student loans so I'm not even interested in taking on more debt. Retirement? Savings? What are those? Oh, and for an education that will do jacksquat for me because no one can find a goddamn job right now with or without college education, so what difference does it make? The investment in schooling is such a huge loss. You do not even come close to getting out of it what you put in. Sure, I could get my degree, which would put me another 20 grand in debt (that puts me nearly to 100k in student loans), and start off making 20 grand a year. Shit, I can do that now, no degree. So fuck it. Paying the loans off as best as I can and that's the end of school for me.

Damn, that sounds dangerously close to what students face here. Welcome to the 3rd world I guess.

So I'll give you the same advice I do to students here. Best way to take advantage of your education is to start your own business in ANY way you can ASAP and go into survival mode while you raise money to expand.

Otherwise you'll end up with an expensive paperweight-like education.

You'd be surprised how many college degree taxy drivers there are in Mexico City. Just to give you an example.

If you're going to start your own business, why bother getting an education...?

A degree is there so other people can hire you, if you can manage by yourself it's a pretty big waste.

Just thought of this from the diet thread... But people who do not know how to properly pour wine annoy me. A lot. If you fill the glass with wine, I will slap you.

My pet peeve, people who see that I am waiting to get into a parking spot at the crowded college parking lot, and thinking they can steal it from me. Crazy bitch, I saw it first, no way am I letting you win!

Also the fight that happens after they finally find a spot and see me in the school. "You asshole I was there first!" To which I usually just ignore, until I caught the same person attempting to key my car as I was walking back to it after class.

I so wish I could. But if I miss even a day of work, I'll be so far behind on my bills it's not even funny. I need every last second I can possibly get on the clock, and no, I do not get paid sick time (obviously).

Another work related peeve:

So, a month or so ago there was this big deal made about a new system in place for customers who want to opt out of receiving anything from us. Some customers don't want to do this, so they call whatever their local office is, and those people, who have access to the online database, can easily make the changes to that customer's account.

Except they don't. They forward this information on to my boss, so that he can enter their information into our opt-out system.

Except he doesn't do it. He gives it to me as I'm getting ready to leave yesterday (literally almost out the door), and then stands there and chats with me about nothing in particular while I do his job for him. I mean, it was super easy, and didn't take long, but I could have done it while doing my regular job, and then I wouldn't have had to randomly stay longer. And it's obvious that he didn't give it to me to do because he was too busy. He just didn't want to do it.

This place is so full of /facepalm moments it's ridiculous.
