Come on. It's Monday. The only day when volume out the door matters (really) is Friday. I'd rather shit goes out right, not quickly.

The other extreme is about as bad. I feel like I've made very little progress on my current project because my boss is giving me time to make sure I do it right with no hard deadline in sight.

Current pet peeve: The fact that a time after I go to bed, and before 10am actually exists. I just woke up to go get Starcraft 2 for my brother at 7am. I hate life right now.

Eh, the EB Games he pre-ordered from didn't have a midnight launch, which was fine by me since I wanted to lay on the couch and fall asleep anyways.

Thing is, if my interests layed in sports I'd have free access... cuz no one can waste time if they are interested in sports, right? *stares at people playing fantasy football*

The damn thing can't print anymore, but the scanner still works so my boss insists on keeping it around. Someone in the office needs to use it at some point today so I've been trying to figure out how to make the scanner function work. It seems the boss was the only one who had a machine with the software installed on it and he's on vacation. So now I get the fun of trying to wrestle 6 year old software onto Windows 7. Oh and HP hasn't been terribly helpful with supplying a more up to date version of the software for download.

I should just break the scanner so my boss doesn't have an excuse to not replace it with a proper machine. Pretty sure I'm gonna have to start doing some virtual machine voodoo to make this work.

The spinach I bought fresh at the store on Sunday is already mostly wilted. Stupid spinach! Also, I knew I shouldn't have strayed from my regular apple favorites. This fuji tastes like garbage in the salad. Wrong texture altogether! Thank goodness everything else is still delicious.

I can totally relate to the printer bitch. I needed a new one about a year ago so I looked at all the different ones but I HATE HATE HATE the printer ink prices. I have in the past refilled my own cartridges but I've also ruined every printer I ever did that with because the ink would clog it up. Soooo, I religiously buy my ink now like a good little consumer and wanted to pay the least amount of money for it, so I went with a Kodak printer. The cartridges started out around $20 but the price has went up a bit since then but they are still cheaper. So at first I was singing the praises of my new printer, everything worked wonderfully and I was a happy camper. Then about 6 months ago it all started to go horribly wrong. The cartridges would have ink but the printer said it was empty. The cartridge would be new and the printer was spitting it out like it was on E. We did all the usual maintenance and though it would work well for a page or two, it would just go back to the same old crap. We gimped along going through a huge ass riggamarole in order to get something printed but now I'm done....I AM SO OVER F'IN PRINTERS! I have NEVER had any damn luck with finding a decent one! The closest one was my HUGE Brother that I had from work. I just know that I'd rather pay $10 more for ink and know that when I wanted to print out a proof that it fucking printed!!!!!!!

My Brother printer is great. Except the scanner no longer works. The printing, though? Awesome.

So they hired this new guy, which was basically pointless because the job they hired him for is going away at the end of October. Not only that, they've been trying to reduce staff for months, and when they fired the one bitch (not the super annoying one who sucks at life, I guess mediocrity is okay as long as you're not stealing time from the company like this other ho) I figured they wouldn't hire anyone else to replace her; that we'd all just cover the work that was being done.

Oh, no. They got some new guy.

And he's just as fucking useless as the other chick! So now, we've got two people who do the work of one person and then all of the rest of us end up covering for their failings. My supervisor said she'd give me more of another task (one I like a LOT more than what I do now) but they need me to be working back there so badly because of how fucking slow the other two are that I am basically stuck there. And they keep coming back and telling them to get their shit together and pick it the fuck up. Nothing changes. It's horseshit.

I have a sweet young man that calls me at least once a week but usually more. He doesn't have his mother anymore so I think I'm sort of a substitute, in a way. O...M...G...that boy can talk!!! I was on the phone with him this morning for an hour and 45 minutes! Good lordy, my ear hurt when I hung up!! (Nearly deaf in one ear from a botched surgery so I can't switch ears.)
