Fucking this. Even worse when you live in a town which is dominated by sprawl, and there's maybe one walker per mile of sidewalk; almost all of them out for fitness, not transportation.

Current Pet Peeve:

That Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence and GitS SAC: Solid State Society aren't up for streaming on Netflix yet. Good news is GitS 2.0 and GitS SAC: 2nd Gig will be available soon.

I'm not a huge anime fan, but I like the semi-future themed ones like GitS and Cowboy Bebop, mostly because the characters act a lot more human. I suppose it also helps that they acknowledge western culture actually exists..

I like SAC better than the original movie because it feels a lot like a good TV crime drama. Every character is strongly developed and it the show can even get along fine without Motoko being a bit part of it. Great English dub, too, though the condensed SAC "movies" kinda suck in that regard, people sound like they just didn't care and the scene editing/sequencing is terrible, so I just watch the full seasons instead.

In the Lit class I am taking this Summer term, we watched the movies for Dead Poets Society and The Glass Menagerie. Afterwards, the professor then decided that she wanted to abbreviate the both of them when writing on the blackboard. So therefore, I was left wondering for a split second how TGM's DPS was relevant to the class.

Day after my B-day! That weekend I'll be going up to Mackinaw/St. Ignace with my gf.

How old is she though? Sounds like her parents are kind of overly protective over her. How did you meet?

Met on the net, been talking for over a year. I actually went up last over the weekend in order to be there for her graduation, but this is where things take a turn for the worse. Her parents find out I'm there from be literally telling them over facebook since they would not answer my calls. They get mad at me and tell me I wasn't supposed to be there until she turned 18, I get told to never speak to her again and told to go home. Fast forward 2 days and I am home (today) and find that she has been made to delete me from facebook and messenger, and I am no longer able to talk to her.

Short people who wear clothes that don't fit. There's literally thousands upon thousands of articles of clothing in the local malls, so it isn't like they don't have a decent selection to choose from.

As someone who knows short people who've had that problem, that's terrible logic. There isn't some huge selection, not in sizes anyway. You get a set number of combinations that don't actually work for some folk. Volume doesn't count for shit when it's all the same 4 to 5 sizes that don't fit.

If you think they should be getting some custom tailoring done, sure that makes sense, but mall selection is pretty damn limited.

Maybe you're going to the wrong malls? Or maybe I'm just lucky.

Though to be fair, even in men's pant sizes you're either thin super tall or short and fat. It's hard to find pants with just the right length for me (and I'm 6' tall, nothing unusual). It doesn't help that I'm not quite a 32 depending on the brand, and 34s are generally too loose on me.

ANYWAY. Yeah, tailors, folks. They exist for a reason.

It is very hard to find pants in the right length for me. I am short, and it's a bitch. They expect short people to be about as thick as my thumb, as well. I'm not fat, but I've got some extra padding, and finding petite pants in my size sucks balls. I have a handful of pants I can wear with flat shoes, the rest I have to wear with heels.

I'm 6'6'', I know a lot about clothing sizes from necessity. Not so much about womenfolk's sizes, since they don't make any sense and from what I can tell exist only to make women self-conscious. According to Firefox, "women's" isn't a word. Moving on...

There's plenty of clothes out there for short people, and I must say that as a tall person my definition of short is everybody shorter than me, but for the purposes of this conversation I mean every less than six feet tall. Clothing sizes can be awkward for everybody, and hiring a tailor to make all your clothes for you would be too expensive. Considering all the problems both tall and short have in common, I would have to say tall have a few more unique problems.

The peeve stems from my experiences in finding clothes that fit, because these clothes hardly exist when compared to clothes for shorter individuals. So when I see somebody short wearing clothes that don't fit it's like looking at an anorexic who won a $100 dinner.

Both of my sisters have clothing issues. The first one is 5'3" and 250+ lbs. Try finding short AND fat clothes! Not easy....not easy at all. Then my other sister is 4'9" and 90 lbs wet. Even petite clothes are too long for her so she shops in the kids section. Finding adult styled clothes for a dwarf woman that's 57 yrs old in the kids section is seriously a pain in the ass! I take after my mom, I'm short but I'm an average size, my complaint is that my size is so common that the shit sells out because everyone is buying it too!

I wasn't suggesting having a tailor make all of your clothes. I was suggesting having things taken in or let out (if possible), etc. I had a friend in fashion design school for a few years and she did that all the time for me. But many dry cleaners or department stores will do it as well.

True, only certain jackets, dress pants and well, that's about it can be let out. Unless it had already been taken in. And to be fair, you can only take pants in so much before the side pockets are like, on your ass.
