I had the tooth pulled yesterday and everything came out fine, well I should have known better ... the drugs they gave me fucked me all up. I've been nauseous for two days and I've been basically unable to eat all day today - ended up leaving work early, slept for four hours and have been lying around pretty much all day since. (Going back to bed in about an hour or so.)
So yeah, I think I'm gonna let my body heal without the aid of drugs. I did it fine the last time I had a tooth pulled.
My brother was out shopping the other day and wanted a points card to buy Dr. Luigi off the eShop. He called me up to make sure that he could buy it with points and I told him yes - what I didn't know was that he got an original Wii card, and not the newer Eshop ones (didn't even know about them at the time tbh) and so now he's basically out $20, which he says I owe him for not telling him the right thing.
Ugh. What makes it even more infuriating is that eShop points now work (as of the 7.0 update) with the Wii Shop Channel, but the reverse is not true. God damn it Nintendo, get your shit together already - I never have this issue with Sony or Microsoft, only you.
They need to either streamline everything properly or get the fuck out of the online scene entirely. No DLC, no eShop, no friend lists no nothing. Just zero internet connectivity. If they can't do it right they need to protect consumers by just shutting it all down.
Any points/money in my PSN or Microsoft accounts are valid, regardless of what platform and all my stuff can be transferred across (well, for the most part anyway). Nintendo is the only one still tieing purchases to the system you buy it on, rather than the account itself and as I said above, Eshop points work on both Wii Shop Channel and wii U eshop but Wii points don't - what the F is that crap?
Furthermore, those older cards were supposed to be discontinued, so how the hell my bro even got one is beyond me.
5 die after wrong-way crash on I-275 in Tampa in night of several fatal crashes
TAMPA — Five people were killed in a fiery crash overnight on Interstate 275 in north Tampa after an SUV going the wrong way on the highway plowed into another car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash was one of several that killed eight people in one of the worst weekends on Tampa Bay roadways in recent memory.
The driver of a 2001 Ford Expedition was killed, and the four people in the Hyundai Sonata it hit were killed.
The crash occurred at 2:12 a.m. just north of the Busch Boulevard exit, the FHP said. Authorities said the driver of the Expedition was headed southbound in the northbound lanes of I-275 when it hit the Hyundai head on in the center lane. Four men in the car, ages 20-21 died at the scene. The Expedition caught fire and the driver was also killed. No identities have been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Hyundai was headed up an incline and was near its crest when the collision occurred, so it appears the driver would have had little time to react to the wrong-way vehicle.
"Five people are dead. It doesn't get much more severe than that," said FHP spokesman Steve Gaskins.
The accident resulted in the closing of northbound I-275 for several hours, but the interstate was reopened about 7 a.m., according to the FHP.
The I-275 accident was not the only deadly crash overnight.
Two people were killed in an accident at Bloomingdale and Kings avenues in Brandon. About 4:30 a.m., a car was speeding east on Bloomingdale, according to Hillsborough sheriff's officials. The car left the road to the south and struck a power pole, breaking the pole and the car in half. The car continued east in two pieces. Both the driver and passenger died. No names have been released in that crash yet, pending notification of next of kin.
Dali Drive to Bloomingdale Avenue and Kings Avenue to Bloomingdale were expected to be shut down until at least mid-morning Sunday while TECO replaces the power pole.
Meanwhile the FHP was investigating another fatal crash in Carrollwood, which occurred at 3:13 a.m. Joel Baxter Cooper, 24, was speeding south in a Yamaha motorcycle on Dale Mabry Highway in the center lane, the FHP said. A Hyundai Sonata driven by 21-year-old Michele Lopez was traveling west on Fletcher Avenue in the inside lane. A third vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox, was stopped at a red light traveling east on S Village Drive.
When the light turned red on Dale Mabry Cooper ran the red light, the FHP said. The motorcycle hit the Hyundai. It then crashed into a concrete wall and a tree. The Hyundai kept moving west and hit the Chevy. Cooper died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
An accident with serious injuries occurred in Pasco County. The FHP said that a BMW driven by Hilbrand Buurma of Bradenton was headed south on Saddlebrook Way approaching Ainsworth Lane about 2:30 a.m. A Chevrolet Equinox driven by Linda Lewis of Wesley Chapel was traveling south on Saddlebrook Way. Buurma attempted to pass another car and crashed head-on into Lewis' car. A passenger in the BMW, Amanda Stetler, sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
All the investigations are continuing. Return to tampabay.com for updates.
But it's cool, drinking and driving in harmless and just a game 19 year olds play until they outgrow it, right?
I've been suspended from work for two weeks now. I had expected to get a call today whether I would lose my job or not, but it's been delayed. Likely all of this snow we're having. It was really bad for the first three days. Was pacing around the house wondering how this could possibly happen to me and why anybody would believe I could be capable of doing what it is I am accused of doing (trying to hide a case of suspected abuse of one of our residence). Felt better after the three days- lot of my friends and coworkers were calling and texting to check up on me around that time.
But now I'm starting to get impatient again. I'm also going into one of those states of mind where I'm feeling bad about even having selfish or dark thoughts- let alone acting on them. Guess that's how some people find religion. I'm almost thinking these days, "I will get on my knees and beg for forgiveness for every evil thing I've ever fantasized about happening to others and every selfish wish I've ever made for myself. Please, just don't destroy my career like this."
Or maybe it's just the boredom talking. I've had a lot of time to just idly think about things.
Yeah. I don't think anybody believes the allegations, including the agency admin. I think it's pretty much established no abuse took place. But I'm still in a position where, I admit, I made an incompetent decision that might be seen as an unacceptable liability. That would actually be one of the better scenarios, because I would lose my job without being flagged on some registry as a person who abuses vulnerable populations.
Jesus man that really sucks. I am praying and pulling for you down here.
I realize that people are very unforgiving of people when it comes to care of their loved ones, but you are still a human being and prone to err just as everyone else is, so I hope that there is some forgiveness, especially if your record has been generally good. Hugs.
