I ranted an aapaatmant neuh Baastaan Yaad. I faated an the daag.

It sounds even funnier if you read it out in any British accent since pretty much all of them are non-rhotic, yet it will still sound completely different from how it would be pronounced in most American accents since that are rhotic, one notable exception being the Boston accent. Amusingly it also means that Brits can understand Bostonians perfectly fine no matter how thick the accent is.

Basically non-rhotic accents tend to not pronounce the letter "R" as a consonant if it is in the last syllable of a word. Non-rhotic accent salso has a LOT more vowel phonemes than rhotic accents do (about twice as many according the the article I linked). I learned this the hilarious way when talking to Yyg on Skype. Apparently pronouncing the word "pawn" as a Brit would results in some strange looks in the US and Canada.

I think I hit burn out on Skyrim again. I love that game to death but I can't ever seem to stick with it long enough to see a character through to the end.

I am tired of feeling like a fifth wheel in my own reationships. If people don't want to hang out why don't they just say that?

It's not hard. Maybe it's just because I'm used to feeling left out even when I'm included (this happens more than it should) and thus, I know how it feels, but I am straightforward with people. There's no reason to play games. I left high school nearly 15 years ago, I mean really.

So I have failed. All options I've explored to make the money necessary to pay for classes have fallen through. I'm sure I'm going to get a phone call on Monday and I'll be removed from classes at that point, after all of the hard work I've done, all will have gone to waste. My dad is not willing to pay this for me.

I am so angry that no one in the Student Vets Association contacted me about my status being disapproved or to advise me of what I could do to fix the issue before it got to this point, I was told that all I had to do was wait for the money to come through and I would be all set, so that's precisely what I did.

I am feeling so low right now that I just want to give up on everything. I got paid today, but even if I spend my entire paycheck on school, it won't be enough, and I have to pay my rent and renew my truck registration again. I should have known that it was a waste of my time to try to dig myself out of this hole I've been in. I was always doomed to fail, so I may as well just give up and accept it.

FML.

1- What the heck kind of school are you going do that they won't let you take a semester break, especially with financial reasons? I mean, if you're going to any decent kind of school, this shouldn't be the end of your education; if you're going to a diploma mill, you kind of brought this on yourself.

2- Fifth wheel? That's probably your problem, pretty sure most people have two-wheel relationships.

I'm sure they'd let me take a break. I just feel like this break would be the final straw that breaks the camel's back. I have been trying so long to get back to school and have failed so many times, I just don't think I will have it in me to start again. I'm going to a local college, I guess you could call it community college. Classes are fairly inexpensive. I just don't have the money. My previous school let me over-borrow (student loans) in order to stay enrolled which also pisses me off quite a bit, because I can't even take out student loans, if I could, this entire issue would have been avoided.

I applied for a loan with my bank and with USAA. My credit is not bad (it's not perfect, but it's better than probably most), but they look at how much debt I have and apparently I can't even borrow $1k, which is little shy of what I actually need to pay for classes. My dad is not interested in co-signing another loan with me, and I can't say that I blame him, and he's the only person I can ask.

I will pray that I can at least finish this semester and find a way to make the money by the time the next one starts, that's pretty much my only option. I put in some apps for a second job. So that's what I'm going to do. I have no social life to speak of, so I'm going to just work all the time and pay off all of my debt and then when it's paid off maybe by that time I'll have worked myself into someone that can have a relationship where I feel like I'm needed. Which is basically what I was saying by the fifth wheel comment, just that I'm completely unnecessary in any so-called relationship I have.

Because it isn't that they don't have the time, because they do, I see them going out amongst themselves, they just never ask me, and when I ask what they're doing, it's always "doing this thing but I'm not even going to consider inviting you along because you're just not important enough for me to include you." Or they're just plain busy with "work" or "school" and then I find out later that they were full of shit and just doing other things that they don't want to include me in, one thing I have decided today is I'm just going to stop asking people if they want to do things, because the answer is no, it has always been no.

Sorry, I just got done bawling to Les Mis again because it's a beautiful film and it makes me cry and sing (at the same time) and I'm just emotional and goddamn it, why do I always feel like a supporting character in my own life. I have a feeling I may also be PMSing ~ gah, sorry. I'm gonna go take a nap and then maybe I'll feel better when I wake up.

if you have the option of taking a break to save your degree and don't, you have only yourself to blame (and knowing you, you will blame yourself later on if you give up on this.). Don't give up until the very end.

It sounds like you may have a legitimate complaint about some financial institutions or the Student Vets Administration; even if it's too shaky ground to sue, you can always try approaching local media. Simply being a vet in need means there's a lot of people who will be willing to help you, and there's also a good public pressure against ignoring vets.

Thanks, Feba. That's an option I hadn't considered, though (as crazy as it may seem, being that I post about myself so openly here) I would hate bringing all that attention to myself. I am going to make some more phone calls on Monday and see what I can do.
