It bothers me on a fundamental level. I was raised with the understanding that lying wrong and you should be honest, but that doesn't get you anywhere in an interview. It's horrible.
Being really nervous about it doesn't help either. I don't think I've ever gone to an interview before where I was confident about getting the position. I might have a whole bunch of relevant experience, but I haven't actually worked that specific job before so I get nervous about whether or not I'm actually qualified. It'd be great to go into an interview knowing that I could do the job just fine, it would make the interview so much more relaxed.
Being nervous is natural. Anyone that claims to not suffer from nerves before something like an interview is either lying or a Vulcan. I mean, I have a job interview tomorrow morning for a job working at the City Archives. I know I can do the job and I can actually use my degree for it but, yes I'm still quite nervous about it.
I really wish I could suggest something to help stay calm other than "Do what you usually do to stay calm as long as it doesn't involve anything intoxicating, do that after the interview". Hopefully things should go well though .
Good luck Both cid and Firewind for their interviews tomorrow, just be yourself, write down questions you want to ask and bring them in with you, smile, be friendly and if they start to scare you, just think yourself as a lvl 99 RDM and them as an easy NM to slay.
I want to sleep but this thunderstorm is keeping me awake. I am too old to be afraid of thunderstorms. The fact that it's literally right outside my window (there have been at least three strikes I've seen outside) doesn't help matters. I wish this shit would fucking move on, I have to get up early.
The sound of rain and thunder actually helps me to sleep. It's actually why I can never sleep when in Southern Europe: there's not enough rain at night.

You would need all sorts of drugs and alcohol then to survive in San Diego...

I can't remember the last it rained... January? A misting in the morning maybe? idk...
Aside from the part where I had to be evasive about not knowing shit about the product that's central to their whole operation I think it went pretty well. There was lots of sarcasm and laughter and even a boasting session regarding who had more broken coffee machines in the back room.
large customers with shitty attitudes, fucked up inventory that gets sent to you but who the fuck cares its your problem now, shitty associates at other locations that cant do their fucking job, and yyg
Aside from stumbling over myself a few times and talking around in circles it went pretty well. Main problem is that there's about 10 other people being interviewed so I keep wondering if I could have done more.

What the fuck SE. Seriously? Over 10 years of game development and you're giving us this garbage? All I see is a shitty DMC styled FF game. I don't even want to make a rant on how much this pisses me off. 13 pissed me off, but 15 can go kick rocks. Where's the traditional ATB gauge? Bah, I give up with SE at this point. I give them props for trying to keep up with the next-gen, the game looks amazing. But the FF series feels too damn mainstream now like any other hack and slash, unless they pulled something out of their ass with the battle system then I'm not impressed.

Actually only 6 games in the entire series have used ATB: IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX. I, II, X and X-2 were all pure turn based. FFXI and XII were Baldur's Gate esque Faux Real Time, XIII and XIII-2 were an odd hybrid system that seemed to be put in place to stop the people that whined about XI and XII, and XIII-2's hasn't been properly revealed yet. Basically the games that used ATB are actually in the minority. Basically it was there due to the technical limitations of the SNES and it just sort of carried over to the PSone.
Still no matter what Square Enix do, the fanbase will rage purely because it's a new FF game and not like the complainer's favourite FF game without even playing the game, then suddenly the previous FF game suddenly wasn't so bad. Looking forward to it since terrible ending aside, I actually liked XIII-2 so it would be nice to be able to discuss that without having to wear the asbestos boxer shorts, those things chafe.
But being serious I genuinely rejoice when X killed off ATB given it's the one thing about the series that I actively dislike. Seriously go full action RPG or even do the whole fake real time with the ability to pause thing (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Night, Dragon Age, FFXII). It's like the FF series can't make its mind up if it wants to go full action RPG or just some half arsed hybrid where mindlessly mashing the Attack/Limit Break command is nine times out of ten the best course of action because by the time you have picked and cast a fucking spell, the enemy just got 3 moves, and the buff you cast last "turn" has already worn off (which made Haste a TERRIBLE spell to cast on the party in FFVII because Barrier and MBarrier would often only be up for a "turn").
There are five mainstays of Final Fantasy Games:
1) Crystals.
2) The main character audience surrogate character that you control by default using Swords as their main/default weapon.
3) The endgame fight being in some other dimension or some expy of hell.
4) The main/default playable character having to appeal to Japanese schoolgirls.
5) A fanbase that will write off a game based on a trailer alone.
