Major big ass fucking peeve: When Nickelodeon edits out certain parts of old shows (Rocko's Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, etc.) and still sells them as the full show on DVD.

You know, the first time I saw that, I had no idea what was going on there? Too naive to be shocked back then...

EDIT: Someone I know who always says she's poor and works 2 jobs bought a $270 set of headphones....

I'm somewhat appalled that you'd be looking for that specifically. "Somewhat" because any such senses involving you, Etra, have been dulled a bit.

I really hate how some of these properties operate ... we had a last-minute coverage that I had to fill all weekend and they promised it would be done by 0800 this morning, so just now I get an e-mail stating that they want to extend this coverage tonight and tomorrow, starting at 1800 ... it's 1644 hours ... HOW DID YOU NOT KNOW UNTIL NOW THAT YOU WOULD NEED THIS AND WHY DID YOU WAIT UNTIL NOW TO TELL US, DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD A 14 HOUR SHIFT IS TO STAFF IN THE FIRST PLACE? DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO SCHEDULE SOMEONE AND GET THEM THERE ON TIME WHEN YOU DON'T GIVE US ANY FUCKING NOTICE?!?!?!?!

Fucking property managers. And fucking people who bend over backwards to accept this type of last-minute bullshit.

In a way, I kind of feel like ranting about it too. From a somewhat different direction then Etra...but still...

I remember way back when that fast food restaurant in Rocko's Modern Life was called "Chokey Chicken." I didn't get the sexual reference at the time, but it still seemed like a strange thing to call a fast food joint. In the same line of thought as calling a cheeseburger "The Clogger." Was a little young to understand the concept of satire.

Then, one day, the show suddenly started calling it "Chunky Chicken." I, uh, had a minor crisis, wondering if I had just remembered it wrong and how could I be so certain it was called something else?

I have nothing against children at all, and I respect the parents that do take their children out to a family diner, fast food place, etc etc. But when I'm trying to eat and your child is having a meltdown in a known restaurant around where I live and you sit there and let them cry and fuss while other people get annoyed because you don't feel like dealing with your child, then you should just be kicked out of the place. This honestly pisses me off. It's not so much the child's fault, it's the parents in my opinion. If you're going to take your kid out, please I beg of you keep them entertained enough to where they don't cause a fuss. I don't have kids, and I can't vouch for what stress a parent may go through dealing with a child 24/7 but I do know common sense plays a factor in trying to keep your child quiet. Anyone else ever deal with this issue? It bothers me that people in the restaurant will kind of sit there and let it happen instead of getting a manager to kindly ask the people to control their child since they're disturbing other people who paid to eat there. As for me, I simply asked the manager if there was another table I could eat away from all the noise. I mean I don't ever condone going up to people and telling them "Hey! Control your kid!" Since that's just plain rude and who am I to sit there and tell them to leave/move because Jr. is having a meltdown.

This is one of the many reasons why noise cancelling headphones are a godsend on the train. I can just reach for my laptop or Vita and not have to worry about kids ruining my ride to/from work.

Blame patent trolls that prevent all printers from having a standard design.

Then there's the good old fashioned Driver Clash which actually stops me from using the Wireless feature on my printer at home. USB stick still works though.

They've made toner cartridges have expiration dates now, or so I've read. I don't print often because toner isn't cheap, but apparently if I want to get my money's worth, I need to print all kinds of useless garbage so I run it out before it expires. Waste of paper.

If it weren't for the fact that work doesn't print in color, I'd probably scrap the printer altogether and just use the one at work.
