Workman's comp is such bullshit.

We've had a light duty officer in Ops for a couple months now. He's been leaning heavily on a cane ever since his injury (knee). We got the e-mail release from the doctor stating that he's clear for full duty again.

Okay, most of our officers are foot patrols. That means they walk for a minimum of six hours a day, sometimes upwards of twelve to fourteen. How is someone who up until Saturday (haven't seen him since) has been hobbling along with a cane going to walk on a property and defend himself or others? You have got to be kidding me! Workman's comp doctors are full of it, they just don't want to pay out his claim so they're going to push him out the door and he's just going to injure himself further. Good plan guys.

Being alone sucks. I'm not new to it, but it feels new. I'm on OkCupid, but it feels like a lot of work for nothing.

I have as much debt as any other student, but it's not the loans that are killing me. I'm feeling crushed under just $10k of credit card debt. I make over $32k in a year, and somehow I can't find the money to pay down $10k. I just hope and hope for some magical windfall.

I know that's a joke, but that's kind of a peeve of mine. Whenever I say I'm broke, someone around me tells me it's time to play the lotto, like that's a stable financial solution.

I've won 50 bucks on a scratch off before. I usually get one when I have spare change that lies around and simply adds up. Once in a blue moon thing. At the casino where I live in CT (Foxwoods) there's a Bingo Tournament the entry fee is legit 500 dollars. But you walk away with 1 mil and there can only be one winner. They do it once a year. Pretty neat to watch, you see people looking over cards like mad and old ladies go hardcore. I've never seen such intense bingo before.

I won $1000 at Bingo once, when I was pregnant with my oldest son. I just kind of have to laugh at the people who buy a lotto ticket every day convinced that it's going to be the solution to all of their problems, when the $10 (or whatever) a week could have been better spent elsewhere.

Here and there I do buy scratch off tickets. But rather infrequently.

Bingo is a blood sport to my grandmother. I learned this the hard way when I tried to touch her bingo chips to help her out in Bingo. She bent my hand and whispered very softly to me, "Touch my pieces again child and you will be screaming louder than me when I yell bingo." Ever since then I do not touch any OLD person's bingo card. Unless you wish death.

Just when I think things are going well (enough) at work and I can manage to keep myself out of the laser death-rays of Boss Lady's true sight ...

That's when I get reamed over something by someone who isn't my boss. Someone who isn't in charge of me at all. Hell, someone who doesn't even work in my department. This same person always seems to have it out for me, if I send an e-mail up to cover my ass, she's the first one to berate me for it. I get phone calls on my time off - and I can't not answer calls from work, because it might be my team, the people I lead, who may actually need me and I feel like I need to be available for them. I've gotten yelled at for everything under the sun with this woman, and the worst part is, she has no fucking jurisdiction (for lack of a better word) over me, she's just been with the agency forever and thinks that means something and she can boss anyone around. I can (and will) go to Boss Lady about it, but it won't change anything because honestly, all it will do is breed more resentment toward me when I haven't even done anything wrong to this woman in the first place.

Fuck this crap! Even when I'm winning, I'm losing.

Goddamn. If I could do this job without all the petty middle school bullshit drama and wannabe politics, I wouldn't mind going there so much.

A little snow has bought england to its knees.
Schools closed, Shops closed, Bus services stop early 7pm.

Nurses and hospital staff, My firemen and police friends all still have to turn into work.
Having to get Taxi's into work because bus services have stopped but the taxi's are charging xmas eve,day and Nye fares.

So not only are we the only people in work. We're not actually making any money at work because we're having to pay inflated taxi prices.

How is that fair?

So Persona 4 Arena is on sale for $20 meaning that not only do we still not have any known release details but we will also be paying three times the price that the NA players will be paying for the game.

Yes the Persona Europe Facebook page (the only method of communication the EU Fanbase has to voice any concerns after Zen United took down all methods of directly contacting them in July) has exploded because of it. I hardly blame them really, at this point the game has just turned into one massive joke. The only ways to communicate with them are Facebook (which is completely ignored by Zen United Employees posting uncovered spoiler videos and pictures all over the fucking place), or by writing a letter (only an option for people in the UK due to the price of postage and how long it will take).
