It's the stress. I sleep only a few hours and when I do it's restless. And I carry all of my tension in my shoulders. So I wake up restless.

It's a very fun game. The only thing that will piss you off.

-Griefers (People who come in and try to just f**k up your map/creations)
-Creepers (Minecraft's coded versions of griefers. Just they're not that good at it.)

My Pandora One subscription ran out and I don't have the money to renew it, which is a bummer by itself, but the really annoying thing is that Pandora uses SO MANY different ad providers that I've had to enable scripts from like 20 different sites already to keep the music coming and I keep having to add more, because the player is smart enough to cut you off if something on your end is preventing their ads from displaying.

I listen to Pandora on my phone and it usually only loops the same three ads all the time. The Save A Lot one is the absolute worst. That ad by itself is so annoying I've considered upgrading. The app itself is great, though, no complaints. Since we're not allowed to use the computers at work to listen to music.

You know what? I miss having to go to work all the time. There...I said it...

Before I got promoted, I had to do 8-24 hours of overtime every 2 weeks to make he same amount I'm making now. But since I got promoted at the beginning of December, I've been cashing in personal days. Making the same amount now than I did before. Yet for the entirety of December, I worked maybe 3 to 4 days every week. That's a step up. Like yay! I no longer have to work like a horse anymore. And most of my work is now administrative as opposed to menial. And I get my weekend off. With no possible threat of having to go in to cover.

And yet...here I am! At home. Doing nothing. One of my casual friends just celebrated his birthday today. Went out partying with close friends who threw him something special. I know what I'm doing on my birthday at the end of this month. Probably staying at home. Playing video games. Hoping for phone calls. Maybe some family members posting Happy Birthdays on Facebook. Because that's what I do every year. My misguided efforts to meet new friends always end in failure. None of them ever end up close to enough to be "close". I try to reaching out to people, but I don't think anybody is particularly interested in getting together with me.

But when I had to go to work, taking hours, I could explain all this "No friends" time away with complaints about how I have no time because I'm too busy working. Be careful what you wish for, right? Now, I have all the time in the world to remind myself how alone I am...God, I hate it all...

@Ketaru: Maybe start a new hobby or make it a priority to get really good at the hobbies you already have? There's nothing wrong with filling up your idle time with "work", but at least make it your own projects, not somebody else's. It's a lot more rewarding, and you'll have your old "Sorry, I was really busy being awesome" excuse back.

I use cooking and baking as my stress buster. My RL job can be pretty grim, Even leaving work the things you see and caring about patients still play on your mind.
Baking lets me shut things out as I concentrate on decorating.
My patients enjoy my cakes and biscuits with their friends and relatives with a nice cup of tea. I think of it as an added element of nursing care that just adds a more personal touch to their experience. I love it when a patient has a birthday and I make them a cake and invite their family in.

It may not seem much but I like to have the relatives think that I can go the extra mile for them they can take ease knowing their loved one is in safe hands even if it is something you'd regard as a small gesture. Having somebody think "Grandma is ok, Steph is with them" makes me feel I'm doing something right.

The day after feeling all bad for myself, I actually went out hiking for the first time in a few months. It's something that fell to the wayside after I went with a group I just felt I wasn't really connecting in any meaningful way with. It was good. I mean, I was still hiking all by myself. But it was enjoyable and a change of scenery. I think I'm going to start doing that again from now on.

I've been up for 7 hours straight playing this game. I have done everything I possibly could, but Tigger has fucking bested me in every turn possible. I reach out to you Cidbahamut, Kitten, Ygg, Ketaru, Armando...the rest of you. This game is impossible, it turns your hopes and your dreams into nothing but mere dust. The batting out ratio is just too high and the pitches are too out of alignment. I don't dare challenge Christopher Robin.
