Been going on long walks for about 4 hours after work every day this week. I'm sure it's great for my health, but the only reason I'm doing it is because it's the only way to get my mind off the unpleasant thoughts for the last week. And when I stop and go home, they catch up with me. Meh...

I just finished reading the Robert C. Martin Clean Code Collection. Both books are so good I'm actually angry they weren't part of my curriculum. If I had learned all this in my second year of college, it would've saved me a lot of grief.

Been sorta seeing/talking with someone for several months and I just feel like he just doesn't have time for me.

At first, I chalked it up to working two jobs and trying to work on his doctorate, just being driven, you know? But I feel like if he was really interested he'd find the time to squeeze me in. Somewhere. But I haven't felt like that much of a priority lately. Actions speak louder than words, cliche though it may be.

So yeah. That feeling. :/

I'm getting that feeling, too, but with a spin. I've been seeing two different women at once, cultivating two relationships simultaneously since neither is very committal (I'm not a player I just crush a lot). These women are long-time friends of mine and seemed to return my feelings for them, but it's like the streams ran dry. I was putting in a lot of effort to pick up the slack and show legitimate interest, but I stopped. I'd like to see what the absence of my interest stirs up.

On the other hand, I do know what it's like to be "too busy" for my girlfriend, and I certainly didn't have two jobs and a doctorates to work towards. Sometimes just being with somebody isn't as simple as it seems. During the evenings, I could either go home or go hang out with my girlfriend. Going home would be thirty minutes of traffic, at maximum. Seeing her would be an hour and a half of traffic and a forty-five minute drive back home for the night. That might not seem too bad to some people, but that's after a long day at work. And I fucking hate traffic. If I didn't see her during the evenings, it's not because I didn't love her, it's because I needed some time to recharge and the simplest way to do so was to go home.

This is kind of what I'm doing ... four days now since I've called or texted ... so yeah. Easier to let go now though than before I got in too deep, but it still sucks because I enjoyed the time we did have.

One of the group home residents just died this morning. What a way to break me in for my promotion. I mean, he was 80 and had end-stage chronic Congestive Heart Failure so it was hardly a surprise. But damn...

I've got a Microsoft exam I have to take today and I am not prepared on account of losing roughly a week of study time. I'll be able to re-take it later at no cost b/c of the coupon bundle I got, but still...ugh. This is not how I wanted to start my week.
