I remember one D&D session that went something like this (can't remember who said what exactly but it's roughly right):

Yyg: Okay everyone backslash when they're ready.

Fire: /

Someone (I think it was Mez): Hey Armando he said backslash.
Armando: Yes and I did a backslash..
Cid: Armando is the only one who did it right...

Without any further context, yeah. But if you stop and think about it, you never use \ in English grammar. / is the norm, thus \ is backwards.

I just keep 'em straight by remembering that Windows uses backslashes for paths.

To be fair, nobody cares about national top-level domains any more. Just ask youtu.be. Also, the use of the www before the site name was an accident.

Granted... but it's still not a hard question. Even if you didn't have a clue... you could probably wager an educated guess and get it right. It doesn't take a rocket scientist.
