When people say:

Yeah, and when I'm in a forest I totally don't notice the trees. If you really mean "I treat everyone as equals" - good for you. Here's a cookie. Nice to know you did the bare minimum today.

My son is not only a really sore loser but a really sore winner. I don't want him to get discouraged from losing all the time, but it's really hard to go easy on him when he's such an insufferable little shit gloating over every advantage he gets. I'm not sure how to fix this. The intuitive time to correct him would be when he's showing bad behavior, but it's just a little too convenient to give him a lecture on sportsmanship when he's winning and I'm losing.

Make him play Uno or Dokapon Kingdom (I think there's a actually a Wii version of that). Games like that are about temporary alliances and then total betrayal, which is absolutely fair. When someone gets too smug on a balanced game, an asymmetrical everyone-for-themselves kind of game is great to bring them back down.

Bomberman, Zelda Four Swords Adventures, New Super Mario Bros. Wii also get there. Its just more satisfying in Dokapon Kingdom because you have so much more to lose but its not on the intense scale of Eve Online.

Oh Bomberman. That game is an absolute equalizer for everyone. I've seen people win matches of bomberman by simply not being in the room.

I haven't played bomberman in years.
I remember getting it for christmas one year and the hours my family spent playing it with me was unreal. We all became adicted. We'd playto see who's turn it was to make tea,coffee and toast lol.

I'm still having a hard time focusing on things. its been this way for almost two weeks now. I guess its just because there's some personal stuff I need to talk to with my family about and can't find the right time or place to do it. It doesn't help there's a lot of uncertainty going on at the moment with money and bills. It seems like even positive changes I'm trying to make are just clashing with all this.

Oh well, at least its not affecting my ability to sleep. That's been incredibly solid of late.

The focus was so hard that I ended up sending KH3D back to Gamefly. That's one thing about rentals - the longer you keep the out, the more you feel like a jerk for holding on to something someone else could be using.
