Don't know what kind of volunteer work you were primarily looking for. But at the risk of perhaps even compounding the frustration of working with a population that can be difficult to work with, have you considered volunteering for an organization that works with people with autism or other developmental disabilities like that? Or know of any local agencies that hosts events geared towards that population and their families?

Might help you with coping with your kid if you knew any other parents in the same situation.

Woke up this morning to prolonged afterimages in my left eye. It kinda made real world textures look like had multicolored, staticy artifacting. Took between three or four hours to go away. I think it's because i woke up with half of my face buried in the pillow, rather than one side of my head resting on the pillow.

Sounds like it's possibly high blood pressure, Some diabetics describe symptoms like that too when their blood sugar levels go out of range.
I can't imagine it's because you faceplanted your pillow. Best to check it out though if it starts to become a frequent occurance.

I'm actually thinking its just part of a cold or sinus infection now. It's not bad like when I woke up yesterday, just a small spot that comes and goes. I have the sniffles, a mild headache and a slight soreness beneath the left eye. This seems more consistent with that and some prolonged afterimages are possible.

I just hope this clears up before Friday, I wanna see Batman >.>

My back had been killing me for the past week. One evening, I took half a sleeping pill, two pain killers, and drank a beer. The next morning I felt near perfect.

It's not a peeve but it has made me sad.

I took my cat Tibby back to the vet today and asked to see a different vet, The one we saw last time was pretty harsh. We saw a nice scottish lady who Tibby seemed to like, He didn't mind her examining him. We discovered the mass was multiple tumours and that since the steroids were meant to last 2-4 weeks and he's declined already that the vet said it would be the kindest option to put him to sleep. Because cats are very good at hiding pain and when he's calling out he'd likely be in agony then adding onto that the stress of taking him to the vets once more.

I had to sign a form for euthanasia and we chose to have him sedated first so he wouldn't get worked up even more. then once he was sleepy and settled she shaved his paw and gave him the injection. It happened very quickly and it seemed awful, He foamed at the mouth and was sick a little. Sean and I burts into tears. I kept stroking Tibby throughout telling him I love him and he is a good boy. Then we waited a little for the vet to search for signs of life. Then we wrapped him up.
in the car I was still talking to him in the pet carrier and stroking him.

I took him straight to my parents and we burried him in the garden with his toy rat which he loved and a duster cloth which he stole and fell in love with. It was like a comfort blanket to him.

I know I did the right thing it just hurts, I'll be ok I know it will take time. I just keep getting emotional but I think I'm coping better than I thought I would be. I think it will take some time to sink in properly, I didn't think I'd be facing this for another decade at least.
I still have my memories and photo's/videos of him. So he won't be forgotten. Plus he's burried at my parents so when I go outside to smoke I can visit him.
I've had relatives pass away and been less effected. He was like my baby though. He had a very funny personality, He liked to argue with me and always had something to say, He didn't like women or kids lol but he knew which men were good looking. He put the flirty moves on a police officer once when my neighbour was burgled and the police came to ask if we saw anything.

Rest in peace my little Tibby.
I'll always love you and never forget you.
I couldn't see you suffer, You mean too much to me xx

So, just because a guy goes every night to the convenience store on the corner and buys a new bottle of vodka, the employees there have to treat him like some kind of alcoholic? That's prejudice right there, folks.

To be fair, I may actually be an alcoholic. As I don't have insurance, vodka is a lot easier to get than Prozac.

And that's another issue altogether. I find this job that I actually like with a company that seems pretty good, and then when they hire me I find out that I have to wait a fucking year for insurance. Not 30 days. Not 90. 365. Fucking ridiculous.
