I smoke cigarettes, ok? Yep, I do. I can't stand when complete strangers feel they have the right to walk up to me and say any of the following statements/questions:

1: "That's bad for you, ya know"
2: "That's disgusting"
3: "You should really quit"
4: "Do you know how bad you smell"

and the coup de gras...

The person who asks to bum one off you and then snaps it in half in front of you. I've had it happen to me only once and if it hadn't have been a woman I would have punched the guy square in the face.

I really hate how our culture demonizes smoking. For the longest time I went along with it. Then I got to college and found out precisely why sensible people enjoy smoking every so often. I find it's extremely relaxing after you've had a bad day or just need to clear your head.

$9.56 at most stores near me. went online and bought a rolling machine ($20.00) and filters ($5.00 for 500) and went to Walmart to buy a can of tobacco ($30.00). With those supplies I made 2 1/2 cartons of cigarettes in a litte over 4 hours of work (Watching TV or down time in FFXI mostly). All-in-all I'm saving an assload of money and getting none of the addatives or preservatives. Still though, when someone snaps a cigarette in front of my face that I was nice enough to give away to them in the first place... it makes me crazy.

More commonly known as a clove cigarette. Djarum Black's are the easiest to find, although I haven't actually gone looking for any since last summer and heard a rumor that congress passed some dumb shit that got them banned.

It is disgusting. It is bad for you. You do smell. Whether or not you should quit is up to you. If you like handing over all your money to a corporation that has physiologically enslaved you then more power to you, but do it where you're not bothering people who don't smoke.

Those people were rude but you shouldn't be offended if someone asks you to put them out because you are forcing them to breathe in the smoke also.

I HAVE ATHSMA AND SECOND HAND CIGARETTE SMOKE WILL SEND ME INTO AN ATHSMA ATTACK AND POSSIBLY A HOSPITAL STAY.

I know on several occasions when I"m in line at a place and a smoker lights up and I ask nicely if they'll put it out since I have athsma will BLOW SMOKE IN MY FACE OR SCREAM AT ME FOR INFRINGING ON THEIR RIGHTS. After having that happen a few times my brother or father tend to get comabtive with people. I can't hardly go anywhere anymore because of smokers. I can't go to Magic Moutain since I can't wait in line. I need a mask to walk to my own car because my neighbor refuses to not smoke on their front proch which is facing my carport.

Bottom line is smoking doesn't just affect you but the people standing next to you. Keep that in mind.

I actually profit off my habit. like I said in a previous post. It only costs me around $35.00 to make 2 1/2 cartons for myself. After I sell a few for $3-4.00 a pack to some of my friends to save them a little money, I wind up paying off everything and making enough to buy myself coffee on the way to work.

Coffee... my other vise.

...but do it where you're not bothering people who don't smoke.

More often than not, the people I'm refering to that stop me and say the tings that piss me off are doing so in a designated smoking area. So to you I will say the same thing I say to all of them:

"IF YOU DON'T LIKE BEING AROUND CIGARETTE SMOKE.... GET THE F**K OUT OF THE DESIGNATED SMOKING AREA!!!"

9 times out of 10 the area is only 6 sqare feet in size. Unless you're a blind buffalo, you should have no problem avoiding them.

I'm sorry people do that to you. I'm not one of them. To me, it's all about how you ask. If someone like you were to politely ask me to stop... you really wouldn't even need a valid reason like Asthma, although that would probably make me put it out faster. I certainly don't put my habit in front of the health of other people. My peeve is the people who are not polite about it, the people who demonize ME for smoking and the people who go out of their way to walk INTO the smoking area to do so. On behalf of smokers everywhere I would like to extend my deepest sympathy (Not being sarcastic) for your medical condition and appologize for the rude way that others have treated you. It's certainly not the case for all of us.

Oh, I've never heard of them being called Kreteks. It must be a regional thing. Either way, I know what you're talking about. Blacks are good, but I could never fully switch to them. That certainly doesn't stop me from bumming one off a friend if he has a pack. Those things are seriously tasty.

Hell yeah they are.
I've found they're a good match for me because I can't smoke them regularly. A good smoke is a fine thing, but I still have a strong fear of physical addiction. It also helped that my friend would buy them off me individually from time to time.
