Nope, its not fun. My relatives get the same way. I made the mistake of being excited about accounting and did a couple of tax returns many years ago. Then over the years word got around and it snowballed. I got sick and had to cut back but I still have about 2 dozen people that want me to do their taxes for free every year. And its usually the family members that have properties, small businesses, etc. so the taxes aren't just a form or two and done. Then they get shitty with you about when its done and about how much they get back/have to pay. I remember last year when my uncle came to pick his up and I sat down with him and went through it. He had to pay more than the year before so he got mad and started accusing me of being wrong. After many attempts of trying to assure him they were right, I finally looked at him and said "Robert, I want to punch you in your fucking face right now so get out of my god damn house!" LOL I wonder if he'll be back again this year....

Yeah, this year with one of the new things Obama put was this Making Work Pay credit... for the stimulus plan, instead of sending everyone a check like in '08, they adjusted the tax tables so everyone got some piddly amount less withholding... it adds up to about $400 through the year, but that's only $5-10 per paycheck. But, if you have multiple jobs (like many of our clients do) they took out TOO much, which means a lot of people are going to have a lower refunds compared to last year. So, you can imagine explaining THAT to people, considering nobody heard about this when it was changed last year, and the people who DID hear about it (like the payroll person here on campus, who I talked to a couple weeks ago) didn't know how it would effect anything.

It's even tougher when you consider many of these people are depending on the refund to get by. If they're expecting 1500 but only get 1000 because of some little freaking change that nobody knew about... they're not going to be all that happy.

After going over the changes from 08-09, I seriously wanted to kill someone. There's a bunch of little, minor, changes that you can't remember nearly as well as some of the bigger ones (like the expanded HOPE credit they put in).

Yep every damn year there is some new hoop to jump through and people get very touchy about it. Well you are doing a good thing KoZ and I applaud you for that!

I downloaded Uno from the PS3 store and installed it. I started to play for about 1 minute then my son starts crying. I go to investigate and he lost ihs favorite ball. After a few minutes of searching with him(aka he looks in the same places I do...kids are so cute) "we" find it balled up in his covers. I get back to the game and have less than a minute left to play...

There's an easy workaround for this. Dispose of the child.

I think sometimes, depending on the DVD you can't skip anything.

You can skip the piracy warnings, just pick a country that has very lax piracy laws and/or doesn't usually have them on DVDs. Lithuania is a favourite of mine.

New peeve: the person next to you with the MP3 player and you can hear exactly what they're playing on it. Heck, sometimes they don't even need to be right next to you, they have that crap turned up so loud you only need to be several feet away! The worst offenders here are the people who don't even bother with the courtesy of having their own eardrums absorb most of the damage and just have the earpieces unplugged from their ears, whatever crap they're listening to free for everybody to hear.

And the worst part about it is just that: they're always listening to absolute crap! My guess is that everybody who is listening to anything good also has enough sense to keep the volume turned down to a sane level . . .

Write down 5 songs on a sheet of paper and go hand it to them. When they ask what it is, you tell them that if they are going to be playing their music loud enough for everyone to hear, they better be taking requests...
