When women are ovulating, their bodies release pheromones that heighten a man's attraction to them. Your perception of this change likely has a lot to do with said pheromones. Once they're released... they have an enormous range... and you would be likely to notice it before she would.

You probably would not notice yourself becoming suddenly and unaccountably more attractive at certain points in your cycle, but if there's a man around you on a daily basis who is interested and paying attention, he might. It really is a thing.

It's ovulation that does it, not menstruation. There's a chemical signal for fertility. And no, I'm sure most people don't analyze it that way, but if you're with the same woman for a long time you might notice a pattern. The incidence of sex in my marriage, if you were to plot it on a 4 week cycle, would have an obvious peak and an obvious trough, one about a week before the other.

Twisted my leg at a funny angle while being tackled during a rugby game. Now my knee and ankle are twice the size they should be and my leg hurts.

frozen peas / frozen stuff wrapped in a towel/cloth on it and try and keep it elevated.
oh and go see your doctor asap.

Sports injuries can be bad even if at the time they seem to be healing ok.
