I'm in trouble with work :/ I asked my step dad to lend me a hand tonight to do my bins, even thought it's his day off, and my Supervisor caught him. She's had to tell her boss cause I'm not allowed to have anyone that isn't mean to be on my Dep there. I've landed me and my Step dad in trouble
I'm gunna ask them to give me all the trouble tomorrow, when I see the big boss. It's not fair that I get him in trouble too. He was just trying to help me.
And what the hell is wrong with him helping you? If it's his day off and it's not interfering with his own work getting done... it's what? Free, unpaid labor for the company that simultaneously makes things a little easier on you for a day?
Apparently, it can cause a breach of security or something having an unauthorised person on my dep (by unauthorised i mean he's not meant to be on my one)
Stuff like this makes me glad I work in a small business. My boss is not the most approachable person in the world, but at least we're able to make jokes in the office and he doesn't even give us funny looks when my co-worker and I spend the better part of an hour discussing the inevitable upcoming purchase of a waffle iron for the office(this has been a running gag for a few months now).
At my hospital unless you are working, visiting a sick person or here for a meeting/ training then you have no business being on the grounds. If anything had happened to him whilst assisting you with the bins he wouldn't be covered by the insurance and would be seen as injuring a member of the public which they could then be sued for BIG money. It's all health and safety. You should only be given a warning. It's not going to be considered gross misconduct unless he's employed somewhere completely different. You will be grilled at why you needed the help in the first place and then to explain why you didn't get assistance from another member of the domestic team.
I think you're a domestic/housekeeper in an Nhs setting?
If so I think you are ok you shouldnt get fired.

Realistically everyone breaks those rules. Our girls come in on maternity leave to show off their babies when they really ought to know better.
What I would advise is if he came in to specifically help you then to play it down as he came to pass a message on to you that was important and just happened to offered help when you were caught.
Unless he'd been there for a long time and seen by multiple people.
I'd request a copy of your job description and make sure you know your duties inside and out.
If you needed assistance it should be outlined as a 2man job.
I think the person whom is in charge of the domestic team is at fault as you seem to be unaware of trust policy "Nhs trust I'm not implying you're untrustworthy lol "
I would advise you to join unison or whatever union your fellow domestics are with. It will offer you support and advise in times like this. You do pay into it but it's not much to do so. I'd offer you my help as a unison representative but I think I'm too far away to be of any use.
During my recent activities regarding the trust and the law I found my unison rep to be amazing. I couldn't have got by without her.
I think more than anythingyou will get a slap on the wrist, There really was no harm done after all. Allthough it does look a bit dodgy considering it's out of hours and you have access to confidential information.
I know it sounds stupid having all these rules and regulations but they truly are there for everybody's best interests. Employee's patients and public it's an awful lot of people to consider trying to keep safe and happy about how we do it, Once that's covered you have to consider if you offened anybody of pissed off groups that feel their culture has been affected. Trust directives are a pain in the ass and even more so when trying to implement them.
Your supervisor sounds like a bit of a tw@ to be fair. You can file a grievance against them with HR the more of you that do it the better.
Was the area you wer'e in staffed? If so the manager of that department might have a word or two to say. If it had been one of my girls I honestly wouldnt care provided the work got done. I'd be more pissed at the supervisor for wasting my time. That's probably how it's going to go down.

Well, I know the girl before me had 5 hours to clean, then i took over and it got knocked to down 4, so I have to plan out what gets done and when.
Yeah, we have Unison, my Mum had a rep when she had drama at work due to illness. I think I'm gunna take your advice and join them, everyone keeps telling me to.
Luckily it was empty, my Nurses leave at 6.30ish.
I know she's trying to follow rules and stuff, but she's being a Bitch about it, she only joined Serco about 4 months before I did, so she's trying to prove herself among the others.
I mean, yeah she can give me a warning etc, that I'm fine with, but running straight to the person who hire's me, is a douchey move imo.
Also, this goddamn weather keeps knocking my net out ; ;
Unions are awesome when it comes to dealing with management being dumb or actively spiteful.
I used to work at a grocery store and they were supposed to give me a short break every two hours for using the restroom and just moving around after standing behind the register for so long. One day I went...I think it was about four hours without a break. That shit does not fly well with me so I contacted the union about it and from then on I always got my breaks on time. Not really a huge deal, but it's the principle of the thing. Unions will watch your back for you.
