I can relate to you on all levels cid but the key thing to remember is that if it gives you a chance for a better life than you have now its worth the risk, I know its easy saying that from me but I see my consultant on April 19th and its one thing that will be discussed.

I think they're still trying to figure out what the hell's wrong with me honestly. Their instructions from last week have done absolutely nothing but allow my condition to deteriorate to the point where I'm taking 400mg doses of Ibuprofen just to remain functional at work...again.

I'm on tramadol the next step up paracetamol based drug, its the step before morphine baseed. Have you had an MRI scan?

I haven't had any analysis beyond them poking, prodding and contorting me into odd positions.

You sure you didn't confuse the doctor's office with one those S&M massage parlors? Were the nurses lacking clothes and wearing leather for some unknown reason? Where whips involved in your "exam"?

There were no whips, but they did bring out something they referred to as an "exercise strap".

Beware of the ultrasound scan when they ask you to lye on teh bed, gface the wall and pull down your boxers a lttile, only to hear the thwack of a glove and squirt of K-y I thought if he unzips his fly, murder will be commited !!!

If you haven't had at least an xray yet, idk wtf your "doctor" is doing... Even prior to PT. Kinda gotta know what is happening before moving ahead with treatment.

Yeah, it confuses the hell out of me too. I should ask them about that tomorrow.

With standard x-rays they missed my crushed disk as it was hard to see, with the MRI they were able to identify it.

Yes, but most insurance requires you to at least get an xray prior to authorizing a MRI so it's rare for a patient to only get a MRI.

Jeezus! I love my mom and all, but sometimes the things she says can be so...

For work, I attended a presentation from a guest speaker about dealing with grief and end of life planning. Because, you know, the population I work with is aging. We even have one guy in our group home who is 79, on oxygen, and cannot walk without direct assistance anymore. Or at all, on his bad days. He talks a lot these days about family and friends who have passed away and regrets like how he never got to go to school.

So I tell my mom what I went to for work and she blurts out, "Why do you need to learn that? I thought those guys are not all there. They can grieve? They can have relationships with others?"

Being awoken in the middle of the night... specifically by a boat blowing it's horn off at 40 second intervals as it slowly passes through the river.

Lived here for at least a year and that's a first.

Now I can't get back to sleep... assholes.

My mom is like that quite a lot. I know how it feels.

And, it does hurt when some one you've known for a long time does pass. It's never the same, yet they are still in your heart, and will live as long as you remember them.

He keeps his family and friends in his heart, and that's how they live on.
