Sleeping the floor doesn't sound all that bad honestly. Lying down on the floor seems to be better on my back than laying on my bed, so maybe my mattress is just too soft or something. I still need to figure out how to fall asleep on my back though, that's gonna be the hard part.

You know, if you could kill a few tarus and use their furry skins to make into bedding I think it would work perfect, Skyrim style.

My back pain isn't getting better. In fact I think it's getting worse. I woke up before 6 this morning with an aching back, not cool.

Time to schedule another doctor's appointment.

You can get back supports to place onto your chair for added support for your back.
I'd suggest seeing your Gp as soon as you can. The problem with back pain it's quite tricky to single out one thing it requires a load of testing mainly trial and error.
The first being figuring out if the pain you expeience is muscular or skeletal. It may even be your sciatic nerve being aggrovated/trapped.

Posture is important too make sure you're not overly slouching and walking hunched over. Correct posture can make the world of difference.
I'd avoid anything other than actual medical advice. massage and acupuncture I wouldnt advise until you have an idea what is wrong because you could end up causing yourself more pain and possible damage.

I'm only a nurse and diagnosis isn't really my field of work but any questions you may have I'll do my best to answer.
Oh and shoes, oddly as it sounds flat shoes and wedge heels are killer on my back. Stillettoe types are fine.
You may find that your footwear is positioning your body in a way it's not used to.
If you can get somebody to measure your inside leg measurement / the trouser length measurement. To make sure your legs are the same measurement a slight variation can give back and hip pain.

Anyway as I said most of this is just an onslaught of suggestion. It would be better for you to gather as much info as you can regarding your ailment and then go to your Gp with everything you have so there is less chance of something being missed.

Yeah, if my affliction gets even worse after visiting a doctor a few times I'd probably stop paying him and look for an alternative. <_<;

Are you still moving around full of pain killers? It could be that not only you aren't allowing your body to heal, but are actually damaging your muscles further because you don't feel the pain that usually lets you know you are doing something you really shouldn't. But I think I've already said that before.

Let me tell you a little story about my Grandpa.

Once upon a time (like 20 years ago) he started developing knee problems because the cartilage in his knee was very worn out. The solution was an extremely simple operation that only required local anesthetic. Downside was he needed to stay in bed for over 2 weeks for the knee to heal completely and do like a month of therapy, which was more aimed at re-shaping his atrophied leg muscles (which weren't supporting his weight properly and caused all the weight to rest directly on the knee), rather than the knee itself. But after that he was going to have good movement for another 30 years (he was 60 at the time.)

What did he do? He postponed the operation over and over and kept going with painkillers and other "remedies", 'cause he was too busy to rest for 2 weeks and stuff. Twenty years later he was completely unable to walk and had to get a very invasive surgery that forced him to be in recovery for months and that would only give him limited mobility back. Just because he couldn't waste 2 weeks of rest and a few (free) therapy sessions to get him started into exercising again.

I'm sick with "I don't wanna go back to work and deal with this awful trainee-itis."

Ugh. I like training when the people are actually worth training. But considering I flat out said not to bring this person on and then we did anyway, I'm not sure what it is they expect me to do. And I know I said this peeve already, but I had two blessed days of not babysitting and it was pretty damn nice.
