Oh wow, second time in a month, the building fire alarm is going off. I had to call the fire department. Again. There's no fire. I think the fire panel is broken though, so I left a message for maintenance to come fix it so this stops happening.
Hmmm, since I've lived here (1.5 years):
Water has been shut off for the entire complex at least once monthly, sometimes multiple times.
Entire building fire alarm has gone off twice in the last month.
New neighbors downstairs blast their bass every day.
Other new neighbors have a wonky car alarm that sounds when birds shit on their car.
Kids hold weekly screaming contests from the landings, this has happened as long as I've been here.
Some assfuck hit my truck in the parking lot.
Someone in this building sets their apartment fire alarm off every. single. day. (As of yet, I have not, and I'm the worst cook in the universe.)
The gate has been broken with multiple promises of repairs since day one.
And somehow, they still think it's okay to raise my rent yearly.
I can't wait to move.
And this happened not even two seconds after I'd started doing my taxes. Fuck.
Chasing after the bus to intentionally look like an overly-romantic idiot.
then a fucking hole in my pocket. This is a problem when you live in a culture with large demonination coinage. I had enough money to buy dinner roll out on the street.
I hope both things didn't happen at the same time, otherwise it would be like one of those movies from the 90's. XD
PS > Welcome to the pouch brotherhood. I recommend small ergonomic leather pouches that you place on your belt and have a strong magnetic lid. They are around the same size of a cellphone clip so they don't get in the way for the most part.

Preemptive Peeve: I just got my new cards for Crossfire and a 4x3 for my RAID array, which means a number of things can go wrong. The most probable being me frying my power supply due to the higher demand. After all, while my current PSU should be more than able to handle the new setup this wouldn't be the first time one of them is defeated by a load well below the specifications. <_<;
So, if I don't type again tonight then I'm more likely than not shivering in a corner of my apartment suffering from PC withdrawals.

Children who are what age 12 swearing in the street or on the bus, it's like seriously your a child and your swearing wtf??
Males who walk around with their hands in their pants and have that little limp type walk going on >.<
Turns out my pretty PC didn't blow up. Everything was too easy, really.
Which means severe potential for unexpected troubles in the near future. /optimism
Also, first time I get over 5300 in the XIV benchmark. No idea if that's good for the cards I'm using, but the demo looks pretty awesome once you can actually run it decently.

I have a 90% full ink cartridge that won't print. The other one is 98% full, so my printer isn't just being retarded because one of the two is out of ink. Apparently (and I'm not sure how true this is), they use "smart chip" technology in printer cartridges now, so they expire, rendering them completely useless even if they're not empty. If that is true, then that is fucking bullshit.
Either way, the fact that I had to go out and spent $14.97 (+tax) on a brand new ink cartridge - that works, by the way, so it wasn't just the printer - when I had one sitting on almost full ink to begin with is enough to make my fucking blood boil.
Question: did you buy third party printer cartridges? One of our printers here had a similar problem because our boss is a miser and wouldn't spring for HP cartridges to go with the HP printer that already has too many moving parts. Now it doesn't print so well.
The lesson to take away from it all is that printers are terrible things and you should avoid them whenever possible.
More computer peeves:
Newer versions of Internet Explorer all have their security settings default to "You can't using the fucking internet, go away". I don't have the patience to sift through every setting to figure out the bare minimum that needs to be enabled to keep non tech users safe while giving them a functional browser. Cut that shit out Microsoft. It's fine to do it with servers, but don't pull that shit with the end user OS installations. I shouldn't have to configure IE in order to download stuff off microsoft sites. It's ridiculous.
