Honestly to me it was so much better before ToAU when enfeebles meant a damn. Refresh - Haste - Dia II - Para - Refresh - Haste - Slow - Gravity - Refresh - Haste - etc - etc

It definitely does have a nice rhythm. And I definitely had this perfect rotation. And then they had to make squishy pink birds that casted your magic right back at you like fucking douchey douches and fucked all our lovely enfeebling cycles up forever.




And I made this invitation in another thread but my apartment is always open to FFXIOers, just bring some beer and we're good. My sofa is quite comfortable.

Ya I hate those damn birds! I remember when I first fought them and I was so bullheaded and insisted that I cast enfeebles on them. When the party wiped and I got my ass reamed for it, I learned my lesson.....but I still didn't like it!! lol

I still liked trying to finish greater colibris off with Blizzard III when mp allowed. Getting the spell in when it was low enough to avoid freezing a sam to death but getting in ahead of a WS was enough of a challenge to keep me awake in thickets.

I preferred to merit on Mamools anyway, gave me something to do besides Haste. It was more of a challenge with the heals and with keeping the mage ones silenced and dispelling and actually doing shit worth a damn instead of Haste x5 then a couple Regens maybe a Cure III and then stick my finger up my ass.

Yeah people were seriously pussies in this game. Afraid to try anything that might get you killed because (oh noes) it might actually be fun or something.

And of course I meant I had nothing better to do at that point because I'd just be waiting on recasts.

I would typically only party with friends. Thus my merits were woefully incomplete, but at least I always had fun. They even let me melee a few times but to be honest it was never really worth it.

Yeah I know right because it's so hard to turn off merit mode and actually grab some XP while farming sky or sea or doing random HNMs.

And we used to FoV during Aspid camps before we stopped camping the turtle entirely. Anyone who wasn't capped (or at least had less than 10k of a buffer) and used the FoV to get merits was a dumbass, honestly.

I have to admit, because of Kirsteena and my guild, I was pretty spoiled as a TOAU mage. We rarely bothered with Colibiri. I did like how they made me be the bad guy with bad DDs though. I took leader and was like "Ok, so, yeah. We aren't getting good enough EXP here. So [random DD], you have to go. No hard feelings?"

EDIT: TM, I'm up to drink 6. I could go back to sexual habits if you like?
