I mean I'm not denying that it's definitely possible to damage computers through software, but %90 of this is just stupidity guys.

MSI's Afterburner software can alter the GPU's BIOS, which could potentially be used to fry video cards. Viruses specifically targetted to abuse a certain piece of hardware could possibly increase its activity until it bricks or the PSU explodes. One could easily set all fans to 100% speed, which could potentially damage either the fans or the PSU, or turn them off completely, as Feba suggested, and fry either the GPU or CPU.

New (old) peeve: people who associate Christians with this more than this. As a natural addendum to this peeve, the Christians who do not work to remedy it, but rather to perpetuate it.

Some folks are just giving us a bad rep.

The problem is that they don't see it as offensive. It's just what they believe. I'm not sure what part of the Bible they're drawing from, but yeah.

I'm not usually one to knock someone's beliefs but when your beliefs start stomping upon those of others and severe griefing (for lack of a better term) of people who are grieving, that's when I begin to have a problem with your beliefs.

The three of us from our area went into the mail room where our supervisor works because it's her birthday today and everyone had signed a card and gotten her a cake, when we came in, another supervisor was like, "What are you guys doing in here?"

I said, "We broke everything." Completely straight faced.

The look on her face was one of those, 'how did you...' looks, and I was seriously surprised that I had to explain to her that I was not serious. Yeah, we broke 6 cubicles, 6 computers, walls, a door, windows, the printers, and everything else that's crammed back here. In the 20 minutes since our supervisor had just been back there. Get a clue, seriously.

Maybe it's because I'm still kind of new and people don't get my snarkiness quite yet, but still.

A few months ago, a boy at school was picking on my daughter. He pulled her off the bars, which left her bruised and sore for a few days. He also knocked her down at some point when they were on the playground. Mind you, he's a second grader (not sure how big) & my daughter is a petite first grader.I was getting ready to go all "Mama Bear" on this little punk -- but then he stopped showing up for school. Since he was gone for a few months, we figured his family had moved or he had changed schools or something.

As of yesterday, he's back -- and picking up where he left off. He apparently twisted DD's arm behind her back yesterday (luckily, no damage done) and also scratched her (though that part *might have* been by accident). We made sure she knows to tell an adult whenever this boy touches her without permission. She has told on him in the past, but I don't think anything has been done.

With bullying being the hot-button topic it is right now, I'm not quite understanding why the school hasn't done anything. According to DD, this boy picks on a few of the kids.

My Mom volunteers both in DD's classroom and in the school library. She's now keeping an eye out for this boy, and will protest quite vociferously if need be (she can be scary when she wants to be). If nothing else, we'll "remind" the school administrators how bad it would look for them if this punk were to seriously injure another kid -- especially since we know the school has been been made aware of his problematic behavior.

The bully kid was apparently absent today. I'm hoping he was dragged off by coyotes or something.

I remember when I got picked on in elementary school... Good times. Although it wasn't more than 12 or so years ago, I could at least fight back without getting in shit with the teachers.

You've really got to know some good people in every group to know you can't form your opinion about them just on what you hear in the media. I've known some good Christian people in the world. In fact, my best friend is Christian. If it weren't for him, my impression of you guys might look something more along the lines of this:

To add to that, my stupid coworker is like, "Why are you complaining about Monday off?" Because I'm broke. We've had three four-day weeks in a month. That is a lot of fucking money. I don't get paid for my days off like you employees do (and yes this is the one who was fucking up) and I need the damn money. You live with your boyfriend and you get paid for the holiday so eat a dick.

You've really got to know some good people in every group to know you can't form your opinion about them just on what you hear in the media. I've known some good Christian people in the world. In fact, my best friend is Christian. If it weren't for him, my impression of you guys might look something more along the lines of this:

Loosely defined as "a believer in Christ," they are, but that's about as much of the definition of Christianity that they fall under.
