If the Republicans are going to hold their breath until they get their way on everything, I think we should tie plastic bags over all of their heads just to make sure they don't cheat. They make me sick.

You know the funny thing is I agreed with them on the whole Bush Era Tax Breaks for All thing (let's leave my actual political beliefs out of this). Doesn't change the fact is it immature that they would hold everything up because of that.

Why don't we all change the course of the country by threatening to slice our own wrists if we don't get what we want?

The idea that you need to get 60 votes in order to bring something to a vote is ridiculous. They hold up votes even for things they plan to vote in favor of -- it makes no sense. They don't give a rat's ass about anyone in the country other than straight white wealthy Christians, and want nothing more than to simply screw the rest of us over & frustrate President Obama.

Actually needing 60 votes to bring something up for vote isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd imagine it's designed as one of the many safety valves that prevents legislation from wildly fluctuating every time new officials get elected.

I'm pretty sure you're describing bigots rather than Republicans, although the two seem to overlap quite often.

What frustrates me is that the entire political system feels very broken and averse to compromise and simple common sense. It's all one big political game and we've lost sight of doing things for the good of the country.

Bigots are just part of the problem.

There are a number of Republican senators who are not bigots & who are willing to repeal DADT. The party's leadership, however, has gotten all of the Republicans to commit to doing NOTHING until the tax cuts and the budget are completed. There is no reason they can't move forward on civil rights legislation, ratifying the START treaty, giving our fighting troops a well-deserved pay raise, providing military personnel with more mental health services or anything else in the down-time when negotiations on the taxes/budget have stalled.

The whole DADT thing just pisses me off to no end.

And today at work my boss said I deserved a medal of honor for putting up with the chatty women who sit in the cubicle next to me. He's actually cutting their project short by two weeks just because he can't fucking stand them.

Lol. I wish I had more supervisors/bosses like this. There was this one bitch at my last job (I may have mentioned her a few times) that no one could really stand, but the manager pretty much had no balls and wouldn't fire her, even though she basically sucked at her job and annoyed the crap out of everyone.

He's a pretty cool guy. Very easy going. I've run into him out drinking many times, and he seems to actually enjoy my company, which is more than I can say for a lot of the people in the office.

Well the guy was pretty cool in general, like we'd (a group of us) go out to lunch once every month or so and basically fuck around and act stupid, he just didn't have any balls. Really his one major flaw. That, and the fact that he'd try to wave it around like he was almighty powerful or something, but then never back it the fuck up. Which made him very easy to manipulate, if you were the type to do such a thing.

Not really manager material, but generally a good guy.

This computer at work is so fucking shitty that not only does it have a tendency to freeze at least once a day, but on top of that, IE (which I just love) freezes almost every hour. Like clockwork. And since 99% of my day consists of browsing pretty much anything I can get away with, this is incredibly frustrating.

I tried to adjust the date and time, and was unable to even open the interface. So I highly doubt it.

Oh hey, I was able to turn off the Windows sounds. So they don't DING over my music.

Maybe when I finish this work I will see what else I can play around with.
