I had a coworker at my last job who used to bitch about menopause all the time. She was always depressed about every little thing in life and she was just generally annoying and generally unattractive so it was always like, "Um, ew, gross, lady ..." when she'd talk about that shit. Like she seriously told me

this is gross

how much she was bleeding and how often she had to change her pads

as though I truly wanted to know all that information in the first fucking place.

In general, there are two people on the planet who need to know when it's my time of the month. Me, and the person I'm sleeping with. I don't know what possesses people to tell their coworkers shit like that. Coworkers. Not even friends, for fuck's sake. This is someone who, if she wanted to jump off a bridge, I would have given her a ride to the highest one in town. Why would she tell me this shit?

OMG...my daughter is the ABSOLUTE WORST with info like this! She'll go into even MORE detail than that woman did with you! And when you get disgusted and tell her to stop, she just get even more gross and laugh at you. It drives me absolutely nuts! You know...she acts like white trash. I don't know where she got it from but it wasn't me! (Ok I do sorta, as Feba will probably point out my family is a good example of white trash. /sigh)

Oh it gets worse with her. She'd wear the rubber gloves all day ... we wear them generally for opening mail, because people are nasty, and mail can be tainted with all kinds of fucked up shit. (Seen fingernail clippings, used TP, used kleenex, as examples) So we all wear the gloves for that part of the day, but not for the rest of the day. And if you were one of the people who liked working with them on, you'd change them every hour or so.

Not her. She'd wear them all day. 8 fucking hours. Wear them to open the disgusting-ass mail. To the bathroom. ( ><) And then eat her food. And I'm not talking about eating with a fork. No, she was eating with her hands. HER GLOVED HANDS, the same fucking gloves she'd probably touched typhoid with at 9 AM opening some fucking gross-ass piece of mail and the same gloves she wiped her fucking ass with. And of course, she didn't wash her hands in the bathroom, because she had gloves on. And when confronted by the supervisor about this, you know what she said? "They're sterile. Surgeons use them!" Uh, not all fucking day, and certainly not without taking them off when you go to take a fucking piss. Jesus Christ.

AND THEN she'd come up to you, put her fucking GLOVED HAND on your shoulder, and get all close and tell you some disgusting personal secret. If I weren't scared of getting some awful disease just from touching her, I would have fucking punched her in the face.

No, because they're business reply envelopes, which if you'll notice, don't have any identifying markings on them. They're all just a bunch of envelopes that get sent with the packets and get stuffed by a machine. So they're all the same. So we have no way of tracking who on earth might have sent it. People send us back empty envelopes, or envelopes with teeny notes saying "take me off your list" like we have any fucking clue who they are.

If it were something like Anthrax we'd obviously have to give it to the FBI or whatever and they'd investigate, but they'd have to do the whole 9 - fingerprinting, follicles, whatever else they look for. I guess we could have given the offending TP to the police and they could have run DNA, but we never pursued it. And that's assuming that the person's DNA is even on a file somewhere.

People are fucking sick, though, that's one thing I learned working where I used to work.

Yes, I certainly did just use a pen to scratch my ear. Lol. I'm not fucking up my nails.

I can totally be there with you on that one aksannyi. Had an MRI this week to check my disks in my spine as suffering alot this last month. You have to lie very still and lo and behold, arms down by my side, nose starts itching, in the end had to get one of the radiologist nurses to scratch it for me it got to me so much.

I think I just experienced the weirdest stomach bug or just flat-out bodily rejection of something I ate.

I'll spare the gory details, but suffice the say nothing went like it usually goes down. Is that an aging thing or is it not only Halloween, but Backwards Day as well? I should feel miserable right now, but now that its over I feel pretty damn good.

At any rate, tossing out that other can of chili just to be safe, I'll just stick to ramen for the weekend.

I always wonder why curry is hotter on the way out than it is on the way in. I have a mini fridge for those moments to put the bog roll in and a good large container of toilet duck to clean the loo with after the pebble dashing. I think when Johnny Cash and his then wife wrote the song "ring of fire" it was whilst sitting on the dump station after a super hot chilli.

I think I just got a bad batch, because I never react like this to the stuff.

Round 2 was a little less pleasant. I passed out on the throne and found my face planted in the side of the bathtub. I didn't break my glasses but they were bent rather horribly. Round to of cookie tossing was more volitile

Think I'm gonna call my sister and see if she can make a run to the store for some Gatorade, chicken broth and tylenol. God know she owes me some favors for watching her dogs. I fixed my glasses well enough to drive with them, but I'm not taking any chances if I can pass out with this going on.

I find the easiest way to fix bent glasses is to gently heat up the metal (hairdryers are perfect for it), to make it less brittle and use something to clamp the glasses still while gently bending the frame back into shape.
