- The "How is everything" waitress. Why do they always come by when I've got a mouthful of food, is it purposely done that way to make me appear uncouth and talk with my mouth full of partially chewed restaurant food goodness?

Actually, you are less likely to answer if you have food in your mouth, thus they can still say they asked the question, yet at the same time in a manner that is less likely to get an answer, thus reducing the chance said answer creates problems for them.

- People who park so fucking close to your car that you can't even open your damn door to get in it.

The parking too close issue....Imagine having your spine fused and you are in a hard plastic brace from your neck down to your hips. Now imagine some f***tard parking so close to you that you can't get in your car. My car was in a parking garage and on the other side were those little 1/2 poles that I parked too close to, which was my fault. But I did it because I needed to swing my door fully open in order to get out with this brace on. So there was a lot of space on the drivers side and the person decided he needed that space and his space for his SUV to park on an angle. At the time, I had my 11 yr old daughter with me and I was driving a hatchback. So I had to have my daughter climb through the hatchback and back my car out enough until I could get in the damn thing. She was scared crapless the poor thing but there was no way I could crawl into the car. Afterwards I realized I should have got security and had them help in some way but I just didn't think of it at the time.

I think there are so many car related pet peeves because we spend so much of our time in them! lol

Not sure if I should post this but what the hell. Story that might make you smile and contains pet peeves.

I've been in a wheelchair for a few years and I'm at the awkward stage of not being quite o.k on a walking frame but really needing to use it to get any better. This isn't going terribly well because frames I can get through the NHS are well....shit.

The frame is the main pet peeve here. I'm only just under 6ft tall and for some reason best known to medical manufacturers a 'extra large' frame fits a 5ft 8inch person maximum. I'm still relearning where my body is in relation to itself when I'm walking and cramping over a frame that's 4 inches too short feels like my ass is so far behind me I'm towing it. It's also rickety as hell, and on wheels. I think the best way to describe it is that it moves like a slightly broken shopping trolley and you spend a lot of time tottering about on 2-3 legs because it bends so much.

So, for some practice on a real pavement I decided that when we went to grab a bit of shopping, I would take the frame and return the DVD on my own. I make it all the way over from the car to the shop ok but then I notice that the automatic door seems to be opening and closing really rather fast. This worries me a little but I totter about, line myself up, judge the timing and go for it. By this time I every single person in the queue at the till is facing my way and trying very hard not to stare.

Inevitably I get about half way through when the doors slam into me, bending the frame off a couple of it's legs and trapping me. Takes a few seconds for the door to give up and open again which sends me off balance and stumbling to the side. Fortunately the door closing on me again pushes me back the other way and traps me upright.This happens a few more times and while I'm stuck in a three stooges film the guy behind the till and the whole queue of people stand there and watch in what I am going to call stunned horror or 'infected by zombie' (kinda suprised no one was laughing by this point)

Fortunately a passing stranger grabbed me by the ass and pulled me into him just before I really lost it and kept the door open while I sorted myself out. Not that I mind being saved but I was bent well over with my butt pressed into his groin, clinging onto my frame for grim death and wobbling manically for quite some time, I can only imaging how it looked (still no laughter from the queue zombies).

After I sort myself out, the random stranger helps a very red faced me through the door and the guy behind the till comes to ask me if I am o.k. Nearly kicked him.

I have that yet to come assuming the NHS willa ctually pay for my operation, I;ve ben turned down by them twice already saying "I'm too young" as they would ahev to do teh fusion operation every 15 years, and me being 28 that means a minimum of 3 operations over my life time costing the NHS £150k a time. As many other british people here know you get rejected for may things... I am 2 stone overweight (because my back means its more difficult for me to exercise even though i do a light workout at the gym 3 times a week and watch what I eat, they will refuse to operate me because I would be classed as "overweight", yet an over weight asylum seeker will get treatment straight away, a jobless person who refuses to work will get benefit after benefit thrown at them where those of us who work and contribute no less than £100 a month on national insurance (pays for the NHS) are refused treatment.

Its like paying for something at a shop and then they stoppign you and saying you can't have it and wont refund you and people wonder why i am bitter sometimes..

I think there are so many car related pet peeves because we spend so much of our time in them! lol

Oh yes last night it was thick fog, and ice yet people were driving like lunatics and the fact it took me 2 hours to travel the 5 miles home due to 13 accidents on the roads around the city causing extensive gridlock. people just don't drive to teh conditions, there always in a hurry to get somewhere.

This isn't going terribly well because frames I can get through the NHS are well....shit.

My friend has that trouble, hes 6'11" (yes you heard me right) and he as to use crutches, the NHS doesn;t have any, so he had to have some sent over from the US COSTING HIM £600!!! They are so badly funded that now we are getting a 2nd rate service.

I wish you luck saren getting back onto your feet. the chair is my worse nightmare and if I finally get my back op is something that I am afraid of becoming if it goes wrong.

It is unfortunately just like our communities here in the Uk to stand and watch a spectacle and not rush to the aid of others.

I nuke my rice then add it to a wok and cook chicken with pepers, bean sproutes, carrot and green ebans with some soy sauce only takes 12 minutes.

Honestly people a microwave meal you buy off the shelf is just not good for you to have every day, you can cook some great stuff in less than 30 minutes using frsh ingrediants , its fresh, its better for you and also, to cook it yourself is a personal acheivement if it tastes great. i always do half the cooking in the house.

People who send me chain letters in my e-mail inbox. These people never write me a regular e-mail to let me know how they're doing but they'll send me a mail with 75 pictures and a poem that takes 2 hours to open, and if I don't forward it to everyone I know, they'll never consider me their friend again. Yet, somehow, they keep sending me these things. o.?
