lolololol Well he does go to her for his hair needs. I gave him a makeover for his birthday a couple years ago and he's been going to her ever since. She's really cute, she's like 5' tall, and she weighs maybe 100 pounds. She adores him too. Whenever I go in she'll ask about him and then go on and on about how much she respects him for all he does for me and how hard he works with school and working, etc. I've told him but I just don't know...]

Oh good lord my son is SUPER shy. If the girl can talk tech then he warms up really quick but...ya...how many girls can do that? lol And I have had the gay talk with him too. He knows how I feel about it. I had a cousin who's parents didn't take to the news very well and I counseled him and helped him out. He considers me his 2nd mother and said that I saved his life. I love him and his partner dearly. So Steven knows I accept him unconditionally and whatever choice he would make is absolutely fine with me....as long as I get a grandchild. lololololol But he assures me that he wants to marry a lady and that he's just way too picky...and I read that as way too shy. lol

Kinda figured it was a case of super shyness. He may have his reasons for not wanting to ask her out, but still.... As one super shy very picky dude to another, don't let being shy stand in your way. And it could honestly be a case of being picky on his part and not shyness, I don't know.

Myself personally, I am super shy and rather unsure of myself in social situations. Mom has been sick and bedridden for the most part since I was 7 up to very recently, dad had a 2 hour commute each way to work and worked 12 hour days. I hardly got out of the house until I went to community college and the overwhelming press of people was so bad I hid out in the library for the first two quarters there, which is a drastic change from the kid who was very out there, personable and making friends with anyone. I will say that the scene in "Finding Forrester" where Forrester is hiding from the crowd in a dark corner of the stadium speaks to me greatly.

But besides being shy, I'm very picky. I think I've only asked 4 women out, and I'm 26. There are very few points that I'm willing to settle on, and if a women does not pass the most basic question, "Can I see her as the mother of my children?", then I am not going to ask her out, regardless of how I feel about her. And no, that is the, "Can I see this woman raising my kids?" not the, "Can I see this woman as the mother of my children?" in the 'fun way'.

Still, I look at the picture and Annie's eyes make her look like a very nice person, she's adorable, AND the most telling point of all is that TGM is saying that Annie would be a great match for her son. Now I ask you, how many mother's thought their son's girlfriend/wife were a good match for their son? Hardly ever! (probably)

I almost feel like we should have a forum-intervention. Your son comes home one day to ~50+ people in the house eating TGM's famous cookies/pies and plotting how to get him together with the girl!

Though in all seriousness, I'd urge him not to let shyness be the reason he doesn't ask someone out, and leave it at that. Having a grandmother, who while means well, trying to fix me up with women and saying I should go on Montel or some other show to meet women, I really don't like people butting in too much into that aspect of my life. Little things here and there are fine, just don't nag.

Tell your son just to chat with her about nothing, first. Once he's comfortable, he can ask man questions like a man and feel manly exuding manliness.

Or, if he wants to try hard mode his opening like should be, "GIRL, the back of yo' head looks RIDICULOUS." With the correct tone and a little luck she'll understand it's a compliment. The follow-up question is "You like Mike 'n Ikes???", afterwhich he should repeat "Can I get yo' number? Can I get it?" over and over until successful.

For the record, I want to point out that I got my hair cut today.

I was chillin' out, maxin', relaxing all cool, and all thinking about kun-yomis and how I hope their creators have a special place in hell, and the goddamn stylist had to start talking about my hair's texture and color and other elements I barely was aware my hair had. I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET MY HAIR CUT BY A PROFESSIONAL WITHOUT GETTING PISSED OFF.

For bonus points, she ended by asking what grade I was in. ffffffffuuuuuu



also, circles of Hell for the bastards who thought this shit was acceptable-- Japanese Language edition!

1- Limbo: In this level, those who thought that a language that leaves the subject up to the imagination most of the time was a good idea are subject to an otherwise normal existence, but they will never know who is responsible for any action.
2- Lust: In this level, the men who brought back China's writing system and vocabulary to Japan are surrounded by millions of Chinese, none of whom speak the same dialect.
3- Gluttony: In this level, the people who are working to expand Jouyou are promised freedom once they ace Kentei level 1.
4- Avarice and Prodigality: In this level, those who adopt foreign words for no reason, as well as those who bastardize new kanji compounds when there's a perfectly good word other languages already use for a new technology, spend eternity speaking English to each other with nearly incomprehensible Chinese accents.

Well actually you are correct, he wants to kill me. We were at a family wedding, that we had to travel to Indiana for, and he wanted to go back up to the hotel room where his PSP, DS, iPhone, computer, etc were. I told him that he would socialize or there would be consequences. (And yes, I do discipline him with stuff like cleaning the toilets, washing out the garbage receptacles, etc.) So I was getting the "I don't want to have fun and I hate you for making me try to" look in that picture. Very astute of you Feba. lol

And, fyi, I was chewed out for talking about him on the forum again. I tried to reason with him since no one on these forums even knows who he is irl....or online for that matter. But thats not the point and I need to stop "airing his dirty laundry" in public. lololololol I love it when he uses old school phrases when he talks...he's so much like me!

I hate it when people talk to me when I'm getting my hair cut. Mostly because I hate the silly banter about nothing. If I know you, and come to you regularly, and we're like, talking about our lives and stuff because we've had a few conversations? Cool. I had a guy cut my hair from 16-23 who was like that. If I am just stopping at the Great Clips and you're some girl trying to talk to me about your baby daddy, or the weather, or how trifling customers are? I am not interested.

Also, I am cheap, so that's why I have been taking the clippers to my hair all the time.

Also, TGM - Your son is cute enough. I don't know why he'd be shy around the ladies.
