I was just talking to my wife about that yesterday. We were talking about all the crazy shit our parents lived through in the 60's and the propensity for "I remember where I was when I saw/heard..." moments in that decade. I thought about it and in my life, there has only been 3 of those so far for me. The Challenger was the first, then 9/11, then the Columbia five years ago this Friday.

Jean Michel Jarre was doing a concert in Houston, one of the astranauts was going to play saxaphone in space via a linkup. The disaster happened, and the cocnert became a tribute to them. The whole of Houston ground to a halt to watch the spectacle. If you buy the album there are pictures of Jarre in the control centre at houston and pictures of all the astranauts that died.
