Pretty interesting. I wouldn't have expected Lolita to be so high.

No reason in particular. I'm not a huge fan of it, myself. But I was curious why you were surprised to see it so high.

No particular reason. Not expecting something to do well isn't a belief it will do poorly.

That site had nothing to do with books that make people stupid.

So, the further left the book, the "dumber" it was?

Or, am I reading it wrong?

                  Re: Stupid books.

Well, the graph should really be labeled differently for all the information it gives, but in the FAQ he says how "I don't read" scored 950-~980 and there are 13 books below that mark. So by his logic those 13 books make you dumber.
Was surprised that Freakonomics is popular enough to be on the list, but nothing by Tom Clancy. And in light of Freakonomics: is it that those 13 books make you dumber? Or is it that people of lesser intelligence find those books to be their favorite?

Yeah YM: the number up top is the SAT score and from what I understand he did, was to find the most popular books on Facebook and find the average SAT score of the people who posted those books as being their favorite.

I believe he went by the average popularity of the books at certain schools, compared with that school's average SAT scores, not individuals.

That would make more sense. Haven't dived too deep into facebook to know if people actually posted their SAT scores. Only took the ACT myself.

Is Green Eggs and Ham on that list? I love that book.

I thought facebook was kinda like myspace. What loser puts their SAT score on a social site? Anyway I also only took that ACT.

Come to think of it, I made almost the same score on the ACT in 8th grade as I did my senior year. I should have just taken the money and gone to college at 14!

Probably because of those people for which it's not just one of their favourite books, it's the ONLY book worth reading. Everything else would just be assignments to them...
