    I has an avatar?!

    First off, upon starting this thread, I saw the nifty new similar thread feature. Should be really helpful in the future. Thanks, PiNG!

    Anyways, on to my topic: I have a new avatar I'm considering using, but is there anything I should know in order to use it to my fullest? Here it is as directly uploaded from Photobucket.



    So, any advice?

    Will be small and stupid in avatar space. If you can even recognize it.

    Also, I love Ace Attorney's translator. That guy is so fucking awesome.

      Maybe if you just use the face in your avatar, and put the "This is madness" part in you user title?

        I was thinking something along the lines of, I'd use Photoshop to cut the top and bottom parts off, and hopefully the reulting screen would be suitable as an avatar. I was also thinking of putting "Objection!" as my title with it.

          You do realize that the first game (from which this was taken) was translated two or three years before 300 hit the intarwebs, right?

          I figured that was what made this particular screenie all the more awesome.

              Well, it does look like crap, but not for how you'd think.

              How do I get rid of the whitespace in photoshop?

                Use the crop tool select all the area you want, copy that area. open up a new PS file paste it in and save (the working sheet should only be the size of the copied image)

                  Never used Photoshop, but I thought most (real) image editing programs have a "Trim" or "Trim Selection" or "Trim image to selection" type of operation? No?

                    They do. Photoshop does as well. YM is just not very familiar with it is all.

                    As Jarre said, use the Crop tool.

                    It is ridiculously tiny and difficult to see like this, however. If you could find a better image, I'm sure someone could help you out.

                      I has a fixed avatar now.

                      It's actually decently sized, too. And I could even read the text well enough on the gimped small version.

                      Thanks for the cropping information: I had no idea it even existed.

                      Oh, and Murphie, I just opened up my original copy in PS and fixed it from there. Nothing stops a problem better than going to the source. (I think I just figured out why free-software fanatics are just that, as well. )

                          It's always nicer to know exactly what the hell the problem is and not have anyone with the programming knowledge who's willing to fix it than to not have a clue what the hell is wrong.
