Well, since no one has done it yet, I guess I will. Please post what you like/dislike about the candidates. I personally voted for Ron Paul for his anti-censorship stance. Good luck to all on your votes!!!

I don't trust any of the republicans an inch besides Ron Paul. He gives me faith in the Republican Party. Besides Paul they are all so obviously full of garbage.

The Democrats on the other hand are not so much better. I don't think any of them makes more sense then Ron Paul whose ideas seem as if they would to turn back a lot of the damage the fake Bush republican Hierarchs have done under guise of republican. I’m not sure if Ron Paul is part or the Reagan coalition. Reagan coalition might as well be called the Bush coalition given the vice president for Reagan was Bush and we all know that Reagan was an actor. How about.. "The Coalition of Vampires" .... sorry.


Democrats are quite the letdown this turnout. Not that Kerry was a very good choice the last go around. I feel like whatever Democrat wins the nomination would need to win by a landslide given the cheating curve the Republican Party has over ballots casted. To that I think that Hillary has a better chance of winning the presidential race.

As far as nominations are concerned I can't vote for Hillary because her husband passed NAFTA which pretty much annihilated millions of our jobs and opportunities for the lower tiered earners in this country. This in affect made it a lot easier for lower tiered employers to offer very low pay given the change in the supply and demand of jobs. On top of all that Hillary offers a "windfall tax cut strategy" that will absolutely not "windfall" at all. To trust the same employers that have been jipping us all along and the ones whom took advantage of NAFTA caring more for profits then people, well...

Obama, I just don't know. Everyone I know that thinks Obama would be great has very lame reasons for it. He's black.. He's handsome.. He's clever.. WHATEVER!! I have seen him say some very inspirational things on the TV but on the Nevada debates after giving his ideas for the war and then after Edwards gave his more liberal idea after, Obama simply stated something like "Oh I would do that too if that’s what needed to be done". So I still wonder what he would do. It's hard to trust a person whom falls back to "What he said" when his own statements doesn't seem to measure up. I feel like Obama was caught pandering in that moment.

Edwards has some interesting ideas that lean towards middle income earners and is the only candidate I have seen that addresses the heavy poverty issue in our country. In my home town there are tent cities in the woods just out of city limits full of paupers and hobos, bums and transients. On street corners there are sign wavers that clearly are incapable of "getting a job" so many would shout to them. I would feel a lot better about a president whom addresses the problems of our country from the bottom up like Edwards then Hillary and her "Windfall" from top to bottom ideas. Sure Edwards seems ignorant on issues like nuclear power plants, but he is the least bit the liar of them all.

I prefer Edwards above them all.

Personally, I would love to see a ballot coming down between Paul and Obama. However, given mass-media's general reluctance to even mention the former (and/or portray him as a cuckoo), I worry that he won't make it.

Shame, too. If the apocalypse comes 'round December of 2012, then this can be essentially the last American primary that matters (what can anybody do within the span of a month and a half?).

Hillary can't be elected, you can only serve as president for two terms.

Nicasin, you do realize that Ron Paul is basically libertarian, not Republican, right? Right now it looks like he's probably not going to make it with the Republican party, drop out of the race, and then run as the third party candidate he is.

Honestly, though, it's not really worth voting. Between the fact that two party systems are incredibly broken, and the electoral college, your vote really doesn't matter.

Also, could you be any more cynical Feba? Dear lord, STFU and actually research some of the candidates. I agree with you on Ron Paul though... while the guy says some things I totally agree with in the various debates, the guy's crazy and doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

Mc Cain is too damn old.

Romney is lying, flip-flopping asshole businessman.

Huckabee is a nice guy but seems a tad too soft.

Edwards is a good guy fighting some worthwhile causes, but there's just something off about the guy, can't quite place it.

Hilary, to me, represents the establishment in every way and is a lying, conniving bitch with no ideas of her own (and a cry baby). If she wins I will shoot myself in the foot. (Not too keen on the recent revelations on Bill Clinton either. Apparently the guy's a rather big anti-semite... not cool.)

Barack is the only one who comes off as the real deal. The guy's very intelligent, damn near impossible to catch off guard and one hell of an inspirational speaker. He knows the issues and doesn't pussy foot around what needs to be said and done. And everyone's stealing his ideas, from his message to his methods. This man will get shit done, and hopefully put all the special interest groups and lobbyists in their places. Honestly, I wanted to just die when I saw people at the last minute taking Hilary's crying on TV as a bigger inspiration than that stunning victory speech Obama made in Iowa (which by the way, the bitch plagerized in New Hampshire).

I also read somewhere that the Clintons intend to swift boat Barack the way Karl Rove did to John Kerry. Now, I'm taking that one with a grain of salt because while I've lost a good chunk of respect for Hilary and Bill, both of them have served the country admirably and I'm pretty sure that deep down, they're better than that.


Oh, and nic, try going to www.barackobama.com and checking out his stances on the issues. The guy's got a lot of good ideas, and at the very least it'll let you know where he stands. I'm surprised that so many people are just sort of caught up in his new found celebrity and don't actually know his positions (which he's made himself very clear on from day one). I just wish I could vote for the guy =/

My dad's going to go to the US Embassy here in Ottawa though to try and get his vote in. We both feel very strongly that Barack is the real deal, and is just what the USA needs.


Either that, or he is the single greatest liar in the history of the world, and well I just don't see that being the case ^_ ^

And your point? Just because I'm cynical does not mean the system isn't broken. Fyi, I've looking up far more about most of the candidates than most people who vote ever will. That does not mean that it's a good system. While we're making baseless accusations, STFU and look up how voting in the USA works.

Malacite, were you even interested in US politics in 2000? And Murphie, how can you not remember that?

The fact is, it's a two party system, which ignoring the horrible system of representative democracy in the first place, means that you basically have no choice; or a choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, as it were.

Not only does your vote not matter (it is not only possible, but has happened, where a candidate wins the popular vote, but is not made president due to the electoral college), but even if the vote was actually based on what people wanted that does not mean your candidate will accomplish anything you want.

Malacite is a great demonstration of this-- the candidates actual political opinions aren't nearly as important as how people look at them. Obama isn't succeeding nearly as much because of his political views and what he wants to do as because people look at him as someone who will bring 'change'. Of course, this isn't just Obama; it's representative of all the candidates.

For example, let's say there are three key issues I care about. Candidate A has a completely opposite view to me on one of them, and Candidate B has an opposite view on another one. No matter who I vote for, I'm voting against myself.

Voting should be to decide on laws and policies, not to try to guide who the electoral college considers the lesser of two evils.
