I found this on Slashdot last night and figured it's interesting enough to post; not to mention this will actually effect me:

I live in Michigan and there's a ShopRite about a mile away from my house so I found this article quite interesting.
My first impression was that this might actually be useful. For tech savvy shoppers, it's as simple as loggin on to the website before going to the store and then just getting everything into the cart. After I thought about it some more though, I wonder if this will actually be practical? I'll be frank: Lots of old folks shop at ShopRite and I just don't see 84 year old Burnedette logging on to a website, uploading a shopping list, and going to the store with a card to swipe all on her lonesome.
It may target some people successfully, but I'm just not sure if it will be executed correctly to maximize results.
I don't know. What do you all think?
P.s. I thought about posting this in Feba's robotz thread, but decided not to at the last moment because shopping carts aren't actually robots; they're just steel casings with wheels on em.
