I'm kind of in the same place. I mean, I vote, and I will certainly research the candidates when the time comes, but until they are pared down a bit more, I have other things to worry about.

Pretty sure most government offices are available to anyone over 18.

By office I mean, you need to be 35+ at the time you start and become either the biggest idiot in control or some backstabber to the voters who don't directly put the outcome cause of an out dated system that isn't a real college.

The thing that bothers me are the ages of some of our presidential candidates. I'm the same age as Barrack and I already know how age has affected me mentally. Then I see that at least 3 candidates are 70+ and one of them is even older than my mother!! WTF!?

Oh yes, some people will say that you can still be pretty decent at those ages and its true But do these people realize that you are at a higher risk for health problems (i.e. stroke/heart attack/etc.) which could affect your mental state? I've seen my mother slide downhill mentally in the past year (with no health issues) and then I think what if that happened to the president. Older people are wise by experience but they still have the frailties of the human body to contend with.

You might have to be 35+ to run for president but there should be an age cap too. I'd say 65 tops but I'd like to see 60. There are a lot of great elderly people out there and I respect them a lot but I'd just rather see someone younger leading my country. And for God's sake set an I.Q. standard too! They should have to take an I.Q. test and it should center around pertinent information.
