Re: A community worse then FFXI/WoW
PSU has the worst level grind I've seen.
See I can do okay with level grinding if there's some sort of return. For example, I consider leveling in FFXI to be a grind, but it's worth while, I feel like I learn a lot while partying and there's some good conversation going on and what not.
Phantasy Star Universe on the other hand, it requires you to party, but there's no heart in it. You go to a gate, and then select your difficulty, A, B, or C. That's right, they decided they could get away with having four levels if they made "more difficult" versions. But anyway, yeah you'd join in, and there wasn't really a party system, I mean, in FFXI if I'm a WAR I'm expected to get upfront and tank, but in PSU you could just run up and indiscrimantley smash on the enemy. As if that's bad enough, the other areas were all just re-skins of each other (For real, you'd fight a monster with the same shape, just a different color). No one would even talk that much in game, except "You wanna run Dragon again?"
That game almost killed MMOs for me.
