  • Woman lives as a man for 18 months

Quite literally what the title says. As an experiment/learning experience, Norah Vincent successfully pretended to be a man for 18 months and shares her newfound insight. A very interesting read for both men and women alike.

Meh, be rude, disgusting, lack social grace and have no tact. There's nothing to 'living as a man' that everyone doesn't already do.

No kidding, a lot of women these days act like guys anyway.

She probably would have stayed if she experienced sex as a man. =/

Well, I guess I could see why as to why she was curious about how life is as a man and seeing how the "environment" of a man is. I'm just glad no plastic surgery was done.

Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).

I bolded and underlined the "is" just for you, Malacite.

I think we are missing the point here though.

A lot of what she found out about men is true, but it's also true that that not all men are that way, and others like me don't complicate their lives with all that "men have to be the strong providers" crap and other stuff like that.

          Still an interesting read.

Just too small of an experience to be considered anything more than an insight on Ned's life really.

I read her "insights" and found myself thinking, "Well, duh!" But it's a good illustration of the gender divide. As "simple" as a prototypical man might be, women don't completely understand men simply due to the fact that women aren't men. And the reverse holds true.

What I found interesting was how at least two different groups of men came to the conclusion that Ned must be gay. I can only conclude that even after all of the coaching and preparation, Norah's feminine side still showed through.

Way to hide your own gender confusion behind a pointless learning experiment. Pick up a book, lady.

See? What makes you think she just wanted to make sure being gay was much better than being born a guy?
