The american media did not publish anything on this mission for a long time as it was not NASA's pictures, its the same with the HD images by the japaneese space agency of the moon, not a sausage, where as here in teh Uk it was on national news, bbc website scienc section, every where.

I'd guess more that it's some sort of mineral thing, or a camera artifact. I don't think there's any chance of finding surface water on mars, if it's there I'm pretty sure it's all supposed to be underground or frozen.

That said, it's far from impossible that there is water on Mars, there are even hints of water on our Moon.

Hopefully we'll be going back around the late 2020s.

False colour images to represent elevation. Average surface temperature on Mars is something like -60C so water is not going to be liquid.

I know i said blue but yea, the texture and overall flatness of the bottom of that place kinda looks like it could be water, maybe not liquid "now", but yea.

Oh isnt speculating fun?! I wonder what new jobs are coming with this next expansion!
