Well it seems like video games have HUDs in many situations where they wouldn't be realistic, or even useful, but what would your HUD be in real life?
Assume that it can NOT use a camera to augment reality in anyway, like identifying people or symbols. Also assume that it is not interactive in any way while it is being worn. Assume that otherwise, it can do whatever a cell phone or PDA could.
Basically, assume that you had floating, see through screens, in front of you 24/7, except they aren't actually there.
Personally,
Top right corner: clock, about the size and distance of my hand held sideways, as far as my arm will reach to the side while keeping the hand in vision.
Middle right: barebones weather information; kept simple so it doesn't get in the way. Temperature, current conditions, and where the forecast is for only. This would be tied to informaton from..
Upper left corner: GPS information. Two small lines with the precise coordinates in them, below that a map (again, simplified drawing so it doesn't take up too much space) like any other GPS device.
Bottom (full width): message bar. Would give recent headlines, as well as adding new lines whenever an email was received.
So, what would yours look like? Bonus points for mockup pictures.
