  • Another great hour this week...

    Hello All,

I guess I've had pretty good luck this week, and I wanted to share it with you. Other than the 500K some dude gave me yesterday for nothing, I was also quite lucky in RL last Saturday.

So me and a couple buddies are walking out of Meijer after purchasing my fourth Xbox controller and Call of Duty 3 (BOOOOOOOO...). We see a guy on a bench with a PS3 next to him.

    Guy:
Hey, you guys want a PS3?
    Me:
    Who doesn't?
    Guy:
I want to get rid of this one for cash..
    Me:
    Why?
    Guy:
Well, I just bought this on me and my Fionce's credit card about 40 minutes ago. Right after, I found out she cheated on me and then she broke up with me and kicked me out of the car. Left me in the parking lot... So, I want to sell this for cash.
    Me:
    How much?
    Guy:
    $200
    Me:
    Yeah right...
    Guy:
    It's brand new-sealed with receipt
    Me:
(Noticing its not only sealed, but its the new 80 GIG version!!!)
    Guy:
Here's the receipt, and I'll even show you my military ID
    Me:
(Sees ID and even notices Soc Sec # on it. Sees receipt for $635 and date/time of 40 Minutes ago...) Be Right back

So, needless to say, I now have a brand new PS3 80 GIG sitting in my living room for a total cost of $200!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thought I'd share,

It's POSSIBLE that this guy stole a credit card, bought something that he could sell for a quick $200, and did...

I don't see any reason to distrust Evion, however the guy was probably a thief. Fake ID ftw.

I would find it implausible regardless of the source.

My cousin said that Military people are able to get things super-cheap from military shops in off-shore bases. I heard they often buy things there and turn em here in the U.S.. But, that receipt... I bet he was a THF/Loser and I just don't care.

                      That's correct.

Military folk and their families have access to what's called AAFES (Army and Air Force Exchange Service) which operates on military installations worldwide. Most bases have a place called a Base Exchange (or Post Exchange for marine bases) which are like department stores in the civilian world. Some of these places have barber shops, gas stations, and fast food among other things. On top of that, most of these items are sold tax-free.

So... You knowingly paid for what you believed to be stolen merchandise? AND, you brag about it?
