Point to Society?

Basically copping my opening post from the same thread/poll I posted on GaiaOnline XD Just cause i'm bored ; ;

Simply put. Whats the point with having society the way it is anymore? Like, everything in quality, pride, and common sense just gets worse each day. Also, things that people woud just wave away 5+ years ago are now like, zomg we need to protest against that and complain to every person cause we believe that shouldn't happen.

Now is this parnoia sinking into me, or do I actually have some sort of point here? o_O;

The question doesn't really make much sense. What is this generic "society" that you're referring to? How do we decide how to have it, so that we can figure out what the point of having it the way it is is? Seriously, I had to read the question a few times, and I still wasn't able to figure out what you were trying to ask.

That said, people always think things are getting worse. People always think that society is too permissive. That we're all going to hell in a hand basket, and no one seems to notice.

It's just not the case.

There is no "point" to society. Society just is. It's a natural result of people existing together.

I'm basicly asking, you own opinion of society you see and hear about. How you think it compares to others. Every aspect of society, such as economy, political structure in terms of public opinion and the real situations, and how people percieve moral issues. Comparing to the present of the society you're in to the past and how it might be in the future time.

By point, I mean, what is the purpose of keeping it as it for us? Is there a reason to keep things the way there are? Or should something change even if it's not liked for a more beneficial result to oneself or everyone down the road that makes the choice not as bad.

It's nigh impossible to make sweeping changes to society. They just happen, gradually, as opinions change, and world events shape our common understanding. You can change things on an individual level in your own life, but that has nothing to do with society as a whole.

I think things are fine. They are different from the way they were 10, 20, or even 30 years ago, but that's life, and I recognize it as such.

I want to know who voted "Blame Bush." Not putting a political preference out there, but is the so-called "failing" society of today really the result of one man?

Anyone with any sort of common sense should have a difficult time believing that to be the case.

EDIT: Okay, I don't really care *who* voted for him, just seems kind of wrong to blame one man for such things, even if he has done some/many/all things wrong in his term.

I dont think most of us are old enough nor wise enough to have a fair assessment on how society is. most of us live in a little bubble and get all our opinions spun to us some how.
