    That's cute, but totally fake. Everyone knows that an X-Wing has shields and should be able to take at least one direct hit, whereas TIE Fighters are cheap and their pilots cheaper, and they are easily destroyed with a single laser blast.

      No a space ready X-Wing would have shields. No one said this was a deployable X-Wing.

      Star Wars shields also don't mean much.

            Meh, a Defiant class would pwn all the Star Wars fighters put together.

            Heck just give me a regular shuttlepod with O'Brian, Data and La Forge and watch me conquer that galaxy far far away.

                  But are you really suggesting throwing a prototype of one ship up against the real thing of the other? That hardly seems fair.

                    The Empire destroying a X-Wing prototype could be a major setback for the Rebellion with minimal resources expended on the Empires side.

                      Perhaps, but would rebel engineers really be so stupid as to launch a prototype X-Wing when there's a possibility of it being destroyed like that?
