Murphie: I'm saying it's useful. the age of the phone had nothing to do with the battery life, it just had a bigass battery.

Yes, I get that. But it doesn't matter, because most phone users don't have to worry about being away from a charger for long periods of time. These days, as long as people can talk for a few hours without having to recharge, that's enough.

When I have gone camping, if I forget to take my car charger for the drive their and back, I've found myself w/o a phone for the return drive home. Its my own fault, yes, but short battery life can be a huge pain in the ass.

Murphie: Maybe to you, but I've had times where not having it die after a few days off teh charger is very useful.

              Such as?

Most phones will last a few days without a charge as long as you are reasonable about how much you use it. I highly doubt that there are many situations where a person would find themselves away from a charger for an extended period of time while also having to talk for hours and hours at a stretch.

Vacationing, especially road trips. not having an open outlet to plug it in to. just plain forgetting to plug it in. staying at someone else's house. so on.

There are car chargers. It's a rare instance where there isn't something that could be unplugged in order to make room for the charger on a short term basis. Forgetting to plug the phone in isn't a fault of the phone. Other people's houses have electrical outlets, unless they are the Ingalls family.

Anyway, most phones can manage to survive these kinds of situations. So it's not a big deal, really.

Well murphie, not all of us like carrying enough chargers to fit whatever situation we might be in. Some of us got a cell phone so we didn't have to worry about being tethered to a wall.

Feba, have you forgotten about Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Episode 4 at around 16:30? It could be expensive to do depending on what are you using, but it's one way of dealing with that kinda problem.

Of course not. Actually, I have considered that, but for a laptop.
