22 year old guy having sex with a 16 year old girl
What's worse is that a 20 year old has to be careful. For instance, there are a lot of Freshman girls here who are like 17 (birthday might be in December or some shit like that..).
Well, if a twenty year old man in college beds someone without finding out enough about her to know how old she is,
1) Might as well toss him in jail; that college education thing isn't making him any smarter, so it's no great waste.
2) Doesn't seem like he cares much for himself or his "target". Makes it difficult to sympathy with him and his "plight".
I don't really have respect for people who just want someone in bed for the night, so I'm terribly biased--as long as they don't pose a public healthy threat, I don't really care if they are rotting in jail or in frat.

Ever been to college? Putting out on the first date is like reading spark notes. Sure, the whole book would be nice, but who has time? Let's hit the important parts and move on to the next book.

lol. I met my fiance in college. And, no, she definitely did not "put out" on the first date.

â–¡ ?
anyways...
I agree with what Dak said.
If you're older I can see why you might not something that's just for 1 night. You know, you're not getting any younger. You want a deep relationship. You dont have time. You're getting fat/ugly/losing hair/wrinkly. blah blah blah, etc etc so on and so forth.
When you're 20 and in college with freedom and tons of beautiful girls everywhere. You get in where you can fit in.
It's not just guys that act this way. Girls as well. Lots of girls dont want to have a guy tying them down when they get some much attention from a campus full of under-sexed guys.
Frat guys arent any different than any other college guy. They just do what other guys do, but they have a name for it.

Meh, different people have different attitudes about sex. Personally I have some kindof disorder where I'm not really interested unless I've got platonic affection for someone too, but if two people are mutually interested in banging like animals I don't see the harm. But really, I think even then it's due diligence to at least find out their age. There's gotta be enough time to do that between the party floor and the empty bed/bathroom upstairs.

That attitude saddens me; you seriously believe young people should be shallow?

Yep. I have a hammer and a chisel, too, to go with the square peg.

It's not shallow. It's just being young.
Not everyone wants to meet the person they're going to be with the rest of their life at 18-22 years of age.
Now by your post, I think you're already assuming I think kids should just mindless bang everything that comes their way and leave a trail of conquests in their wake.
Re: 22 year old guy having sex with a 16 year old girl
It's not shallow it all. It's called being young. Everyone is going to go about it in a different way.
Some people are looking for the love of their life. Some people are looking to just hook up and have fun, and others aren't looking at all. No one way is right.

If so, you're far from what I was trying to say.
So, your position is that it's natural that young people want to "mindless[ly] bang everything that comes their way", and that's OK?
That's the sense of "should" I was going for; probably should have worded it with more care. I don't want that kind attitude to be "OK".
Then again, it's not like if I see that in others, I'd be lecturing them. I simply avoid people like that, that's all. It's a "Live, roll eyes, and let live" kind of thing.

Re: 22 year old guy having sex with a 16 year old girl
One would certainly hope. I mean, the point is, that people over the age of 18 are adults, according to our society. So those people should feel free to do whatever they want with their bodies, provided they aren't hurting anyone else, without judgment from other people. If they want to have a lot of sex. Great. If they don't, that's fine too. Everyone's going to go about it in a different way.
