Would you like $30 Million?

Re: Would you like $30 Million?
An additional $5 million in bonus prizes can be won by successfully completing additional mission tasks such as roving longer distances (> 5,000 meters), imaging man made artifacts (e.g. Apollo hardware), discovering water ice, and/or surviving through a frigid lunar night (approximately 14.5 Earth days).
And make them witty...

Re: Would you like $30 Million?
COMPETITION GUIDELINES: To win the Google Lunar X PRIZE, a team must successfully land a privately funded craft on the lunar surface and survive long enough to complete the mission goals of roaming about the lunar surface for at least 500 meters and sending a defined data package, called a “Mooncastâ€, back to Earth.
....oh look, free giggles for everyone.
There's thinking outside the box, and then there's not thinking outside the box. :wtf :
Somewhere, someone is offering a course in Economics101. ...but hey, that's just my opinion on the matter.

Aaliyah is more than a woman and she graduated with a 4.0 GPA (she only had 1 "C" grade ever in her life).
I bolded and underlined the "is" just for you, Malacite.

Re: Would you like $30 Million?
Shuttles cost billions because they're fat ass things that need to be repaired loads and carry people.
I'm sure someone somewhere has an old satun rocket around, crash that into the moon and have a pre crash fuse to eject a small ball out the side with a camera in it, ball will roll atleast 50 miles on the moon =P

Re: Would you like $30 Million?
No one who would participate in this would be doing it to make money of the $30 million prize. The winners of the original X-Prize spent more then the prize money but they did it anyway. Winning the X-Prize is a stepping stone to getting an assload of venture capital.
As someone else said, you don't try and win a Nobel Prize for the money.
I'm sure someone somewhere has an old satun rocket around

Re: Would you like $30 Million?
Actually I think there are two but they are nowhere near working condition. In fact one of them sat as an outdoor dispaly for so many years it had to be restored just to make it a good musem piece again!(lots and lots of rusted stuff)
As for this someone may just try it for the heck of it...but 3 days in a spaceship just to get ther plus your own space suit once you mange to land sounds like a mess to me!Shadowneko's FFXI Newbie Guide 2009

Originally posted by WikiCurrently there are three Saturn Vs on display, all displayed horizontally:
A Saturn V on display at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
At the Johnson Space Center made up of first stage of SA-514, the second stage from SA-515 and the third stage from SA-513.
At the Kennedy Space Center made up of S-IC-T (test stage) and the second and third stages from SA-514.
At the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, made up of S-IC-D, S-II-F/D and S-IVB-D (all test stages not meant for actual flight)(soon to be moved to a new visitor's center).
Of these three, only the one at the Johnson Space Center consists entirely of stages meant to be launched.
The one at Johnson Space Center is the on that was left outside for like 25 years and was painted to look nice again.
The blueprints to make a Saturn V are still available on microfilm, but would be unneeded as the knowledge to make a 3 stage ICBM is easily attainable.

Re: Would you like $30 Million?
I nearly deleted this thread by reflex ...
And what Mhurron said. Making it a contest and providing a prize is just to get people's attention. The real rewards are going to come from the win itself.
