Knowledge ftw!!!
I've been meaning to make this post for many days now...and work has always gotten in the way. I'm going to make a quote here, and chop the heck out of it for post length and clarity, as my newbie status on the forum prevents me from posting URL's. Should someone wish to edit my post for a touch of clarity(and/or add said URL), that would be fine. : smile :

...game mechanics. I have spent ALL of my time confounded by this. In the past, I might have been a bit embarrassed to say that I wasn't sure, or didn't know which would be a better choice for gear, or why something worked better than something else. I'm making this post in hopes that someone will point me toward the page(s) that I only know exist because someone has the formulas. I'd like to be able to take my characters stats for any job and race, do the math, and come up with a number for things like...say, damage to a mob(insert your favorite here....), whether it's done by Banish II or by melee..... I'd like to know it all.....
Your replies are greatly appreciated.

For dINT < 0: D = V + dINT (when dINT is a penalty, the tier mult. is always 1)
For dINT > 0, but less than some inflection point: D = V + (dINT * M)
For dINT > 0, but after some inflection point: D = V + (const + (dINT-const) * M / 2))
(above some critical value, adding INT becomes half as effective)
For dINT > 0, but after some cap: D = cap
For dINT > 0, but less than some inflection point: D = V + (dINT * M)
For dINT > 0, but after some inflection point: D = V + (const + (dINT-const) * M / 2))
