I have a meeting with the prospective school I am planning to attend again tonight, doing a credits audit and seeing what, if anything, I will not have to take a second time. The first part of the curriculum is all online, so I hope work continues to stay slow so I can do my school work on the company's dollar. It's a community college so this is going to be a lot cheaper for me and I'll also be able to fall back on that deferrment of student loans while I'm in school thing. Just in case the truck decides to be a butthead and make me replace him.

Of course, that puts me further in debt, but if I can get a better job than this fucking bullshit data entry crap at Coke then I'll probably be able to pay them off before I die, assuming I live to be about 85. Lol.

Every month, I'm paying 650-800 dollars on college loans. And to be told I have to go back to grad school before I can make a good living is just insult to the injury.

I just saw this trailer for a movie coming out in March. Seems appropriate...

Yeah apparently I owe so much in loans I'm almost at the cap that the government allows. I'm not sure if this cap was in place when I was still going to school (was a couple years ago) or if this is something new, but either way, would have been nice to know there was a cap and that I was somewhat close to it.

My son makes $26 an hour but can only work part time because he's still in school. They've offered him full time twice, they even begged him the second time. lol But he is focused on going all the way with his studies and I'm proud of him for it. But even at the decent pay he's making now, he can't afford to live on his own. He has a car payment, insurance, two credit cards (I warned him!), and his school loans to pay off. (Yes, he doesn't have to pay them if he's still in school but he's trying to get a handle on them early. He went to 2 different colleges too so he's actually paying off the first one and not the one he is currently attending.) It's a sad day when someone gets an education to make their life better and it basically hasn't done much.

I know that going to school to become a teacher isn't going to make me any big bucks, in fact, I'll probably be just as poor - if not more - as I am now, but goddammit, I hate this motherfucking job, I want to be doing something I actually fucking enjoy when I wake up in the morning.

Just a bit ago I texted my dad, "This job is sucking my will to live. Seriously. Gotta find something else."
Him: "Why? Stupid coworkers, stupid bosses, meaningless mind numming[sic] work or all of the above."
Me: "All of the above. Thank god for my ipod i can tune out the people but the work just makes me want to stab things."

This is not a new feeling. I've been working here exactly three months today and it hasn't gotten better, only worse. My last job at least got better after I started to get used to it and get along with the people, there isn't any of that here. The commute blows, the work is ridiculously stupid and boring and I'm so fucking tired of fixing other people's fuckups and stupidity, and I really don't like my coworkers.

I honestly thought I could put up with it as long as it will take me to get my degree but at this point I'm not really sure. The money is fine - not great, but adequate, when my truck behaves - but everything else about it is making me 100% miserable.

I would quit school for $26 an hour, that's a great amount. I currently make $15/hr, working full time, and it's enough to cover my student loans, car loan, and credit cards, phone bill, auto insurance and then some. Almost twice that amount would be fan-fucking-tastic.

Do you live on your own Dak? Ya there are incidentals that I didn't add in like his damn iPhone bill and stuff. All I know is part time is not cutting it for him but he is determined to advance his degree. Should be 2 more years and he'll be out on his own......as long as he doesn't do anything stupid!

Ya I was just talking to my son about getting a house when he moves out. They have a program here where you can buy a house for $1. The catch is that it needs repairs and usually $20,000+ in repairs too. The upside is that you can get a grant for $30,000 from the city to fix any issues. It's a pretty good deal and he should get one and fix it up, live in it a while, and then sell it.
