Went to concert in Shibuya. Shibuya is Shibuyai. Concert was bitching and took place in an establishment that almost rivals the size of my basement back home. I had the front row seat. I do not mean to say "a" front row seat.

Second band has another concert in a few weeks. 2300 in advance, 2800 at the door... or 1000 with gaijin card. Fuck yeah.

Officially, no. The official name is 外国人登録証明書, Gaikokujin touroku Shoumeisho. That means roughly "Foreigner Registration Identification"; generally translated as either 'Certificate of Alien Registration' or 'Alien Registration Card'.

Popularly though? Yes, people call them gaijin cards. That's actually what's on the flier, "1000円 with gaijin card"

I favor Twinings myself, but my parents have gone to this, I don't know what it is... I think it's called the Queen Mary. Anyway, they have absolutely fabulous tea there that I cannot get enough of. All I know is this place is north of us, I think in Seattle, so if you're ever in the area I say go hit them up for some food and tea.

Also, the fruit stand called Tracy's just got in it's collection of super tasty candied apples, and the trouble is already a-brewing at home.

First thing you should know is that my mom NEVER eats apples with the skins on. Like in my lifetime I have never seen her eat an apple with the skin on.

So, we get some candied apples, we get 3 of 'em and we're going to split them. I come into the room and quite cheerfully ask, "So mom, you wanted yours skinned right?"

The combined look of horror, outrage, and disbelief that she gave me was just priceless! :D

Tsk tsk tsk, your mom should know better! Right by the skin is where a lot of the nutrients are! Also the skin is great natural fiber, which at our age we need quite a lot of! lolololol

I am beginning to love my dreams. They're starting to get to be better than television. Shame I can't remember and reproduce them wholly enough.

Last one climaxed with me walking into a room, going "You're all idiots!". Everyone turned to me, confused. "Sorry, catch phrase of the day. I decided before I woke up."

I am very much tempted to make this reality.

EDIT: The 'catch phrase' bit makes more sense if you know that I'd previously said it three or four times for varying reasons.

The Japanese are mostly socially conservative. Thankfully not as fanatic as our Tea Party here in the U.S. I remember seeing a FB discussion once and the vitriol and poison that some of those people post are incredibly raucous especially for the time we live in. Outright dropping the n-bomb and the w-bomb and wanting segregation back as well as "we need to take back America from them." Someone even accused me of "sneaking" into this country to "reap the rewards" even though I was born and raised here with my brother by a father who voluntarily served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, when most Americans were hiding in Canada to avoid the draft. My brother himself is in the U.S. Air Force and served 3 tours in the Middle East.

I guess I better start carrying around my birth certificate and my social security card.
