When I worked in retail, I would occasionally have customers come in to flirt with me, but it really isn't ever a good idea to indulge in that too much. You're on the clock, and there to work. It is not the time to socialize.

On the other hand, some idle chit-chat while my drink is being made isn't the end of the world from a manager's perspective. It isn't as though he wasn't also working while talking. Still, I just try and avoid situations like that. If for whatever reason I ever see him out, maybe I'll say hi. Otherwise, I'll just stop in occasionally to order my coffee and leave it at that.

Or, just ask him a few questions? If he's still asking them, reverse or counter them. Or, yea I live around here, how about you?

Well, I don't do the meet in the bathroom thing (I think only repressed married politicians do). Besides this location doesn't even have one. :/

I'll certainly chat with him given the opportunity, but it seems pointless to go out of my way for it. I've been single for almost a year now, and haven't been on a date in months, and I'm ok with that. I gave up on looking for guys a long time ago. It's an exercise in frustration. Most guys are jerks anyway. Me included.

But I don't believe that god exists. So, I only have myself to rely on.

Also, my roommate is an asshole. He's picking me up from work today, so I called him, and was like "Hey, just calling to give you an idea of where I am work-wise." He responds with "I know where you work, David. This call is a waste of my time." and I'm like "I didn't mean physically."

My schedule varies, so I figured he'd want to know. But oh well.

Lmnop - I am usually at home! So, I can't very well ask him to drop by. But if I'm ever doing anything, I'll give that a shot.

edit: I should note, that the only reason my roommate is picking me up (I usually walk home), is because we're going to something that he insists I go to. So, it's not like he's even really doing me a favor here.

Seems like it. But then, that requires finding someone else to live with. Who will most likely be a stranger. At least I know this guy really well. I should clarify that he can often BE an asshole, but isn't always. :/
