    Yeah, pretty much. I'd known about the fan having issues and the throttling to prevent overheating, only thing that really gets me is that I had it sitting on a cooling pad; I guess I need a better one though. Unfortunately, because of the design of the laptop, it seems like something as simple as replacing the fan would be a huge pain in the ass. Not really surprised; I also remember looking up instructions on swapping the hard drive at one point and I'd have to remove the keyboard, maybe motherboard; it's pretty ridiculous. But between the external fan I have to keep air flowing (it's in a very open keyboard tray, but the laptop's fan is just wimpy) and turning it upside down (partially so the internal fan is pointing at air instead of cooler tray or wood, but also partially I think having the warm bottom side touching air itself instead of something that isn't as cool and doesn't conduct heat as well is helping too). I had had it propped up on little eraser chunks at one point, which should have most of the benefits of flipping it upside down without being fucking ridiculous, although I seem to remember that not working this well I'll probably go back to it.

      If it's anything like the HP laptop I took apart last week then replacing the fan isn't actually that hard so long as you've got a good instruction manual.

        Probably has dirt or hair clogging the fan. It probably just needs to be opened and blown out.

                I wish him lots and lots of success, except when he plays the Cowboys of course. I love it when a team gets rid of what I would consider a franchise player and said player goes on to better success than the one they were with. Stick with the one that brought you to the dance. I will say this, I saw a stat that he has missed 17 games since 2005. That's a whole season. Does that mean he is prone to injury and the Redskins are taking a gamble? I don't think so. But If I had missed 1/5 of the work days at my job my boss might be askin questions about me too. Meh. Good luck DM! stinky eagles.

                  I need to take a look at it sometime, but I'm really not in the mood to disassemble my laptop to get at the fan, and I don't think a simple bit of canned air would do the trick.

                      Thanks for the heads up. I'm kinda in last resort mode right now anyways, the drive is all but shot and I'm really throwing a hail mary with spinrite. Looks like it's gonna be 10 days of console gaming for me.
