                          Not how I wanted to start the workday. It must be Monday again.

                          Went to an amazing concert last night. That 1 Guy is doing his Mustaches and Laserbeams tour. If he's touring near you I highly recommend picking up some tickets. It's good music and he puts on a great show. A lot of audience interaction and joking around all while incorporating it into the performance. Besides, you'll never get to hear an instrument like his anywhere else.

                              Well how's this for an amazing weekend/Monday story?

                              Working on Saturdays is optional, but I said I'd be in because I wanted a little extra money and also because I am really starting to like my job and the people here. So I got up and out of my apartment by 6:30 so I could make it here by 7, and my truck decides that it doesn't want to go in reverse anymore.

                              Oh fuck me.

                              That happened 3 years ago, when my tranny went, but I had it rebuilt then and I know that can't be the problem. I've known the U-joint was going for the past few months now, but I didn't think it'd be so soon. Well, that must be it. At any rate, I called a coworker/friend and told him that my truck wouldn't back up and asked for a ride to work.

                              So we get to work and everyone's wondering, "OMG why are they coming in to work together, LOLOOLOLOL" and etc., naturally, because we're a bunch of gossips in this place and because he and I already flirt a lot (not just with each other, but well, I guess coming into work together looks bad) so I mentioned that my truck was busted the fuck up and that's why. They didn't buy it, but then we came in to work together again today, and they're starting to realize that I'm not actually bullshitting.

                              Anyway, Saturday he drops me off and I prove to him that the truck will not back up. It won't even coast backwards in Neutral. So yeah, it's completely fucked. This week obviously I'm going to have to get it towed so it can be fixed. OH YEAH.

                              He works until 6, though, and I work until I'm done. Today I was done at 2:30, so I'm stuck here. FUCKING FUN. So now I don't have a truck, at least until we can get it fixed. And I need groceries (damn it), and I need to work every day. I didn't have a car when I was stationed in Germany, and I forgot just how much it sucks not having your own transportation. Even in Germany it wasn't that bad because the mass transit was so much better than it is here. I can't even get a reliable bus out where I live. Fucking sucks.

                              So yeah, this is my Monday. I love my job and I don't mind being here extra time (even off the clock, lol) but still, fuck me in the goat ass man.

                                Aks has me beat, but my Monday's been pretty crappy.
                                So far I've been handed a task that I don't know how to do. Emailed tech support and at least got a general sense of what I needed to do. In the process of testing out some changes on a practice site, I manage to run into more and more headaches as I now have to recreate the environment of the real site in order to practice making changes on the real thing. The more I try to tweak the practice site the more things start going wrong with it. It has become an avalanche of shit not working, all in an effort to practice fixing something on the main site. So now I have a half broken practice site and no progress on the main site.

                                So of course the logical thing to do is give up in frustration before I do any more damage and work on something else. I go back to reading up for some certification stuff my boss wants me to get through. He keeps telling me how easy it is, but every time I try to read up on any of it my eyes glaze over and I'll find myself rereading the same page for half an hour without it making any sense. Oh and the practice exams I've been working through? Yeah, I'm getting 50% on those things on a good day.

                                I just want to give up and go home for the day, maybe even the whole week.
